Need Help/Tips on Trailer Decal Layout

I just bought a black 5x8 enclosed trailer.



I was wondering if you guys have any tips/ suggestions/ or opinion on my layout that would improve it in anyway.



As in colors ( my trailer is black, so what color letters would make it really "pop"?)



As in words ( is there a better slogan you can think of? what do you think of my current one?)

Long answer.

Print colors on black - I prefer white or silver (but that's just me).

Layout - Phone # on top, second line; website, third line; slogan, fourth line; name, fifth line; as is. Change the font size accordingly. My opinion is that it's more important for prospective customers to know how to contact you as opposed to the business name (at least on work vehicles/trailers). There's nothing more annoying (to me) than speeding down the highway and not being able to read the contact info on a vehicle and when you're parked you want to have as much exposure as you can, parked cars shouldn't block your contact info. But again, that's just me.

Suggestions - Use a different font or color for your name & slogan (both should be the same but different from all the rest of the info), this makes them stand out. Keep the contact info font the way you have it - easy to read. Try playing with italics.

Maybe add a logo, it doesn't need to be elaborate - as a matter of fact; the simpler the better.

Slogan - I like yours.
 
i was gonna ask where you lived? if it is within reasonable distance, I could hook you up with a sweet deal on vinyl. Mine is being installed as we speak. here are some pics of the 'panels' that he printed and laminated.

Thanks for the tips guys! I would really like to have it vinyl wrapped but I can't fit that large of an expense into my budget ATM.

Understandable. If not a full wrap, why not something in between? If you're going to have lettering done, I don't think a large oval with your logo and some color would be that much more.

Thanks for the idea, I am planning to throw some type of logo/design/graphic in there for the biz name. the rest will be plan letterings.

I agree with skipping the more costly wrap, especially for a new business. Breaking into a market is enough of a burden- only eased by not over investing and without having to recoup an unnecessary start up expense to break even.



ROI should be the primary concern with any new business, get in the black before you go on a shopping spree. I've got a guy that has great pricing on custom vinyl, check out houseofgrafix.net - Home

Thanks for the reply! but what does ROI=? and "get in the black" means? Thanks for the link as well!
 
ROI = Return on Investment. As a business person you want the money that you've made to exceed the money you've spent.



Get in the black means to break even, in the red would mean to be operating at a loss.



If you spend $5000 on a trailer, equipment, products, marketing, etc you're in the red until your revenue is greater than $5000- at which point you're in the black.
 
well, i guess i was fortunate enough to find a deal (ahem...FREE!) on my wrap. but yeah, I think will a smaller 5x8, you should be able to get your graphics in vinyl atleast on the sides and back of your trailer. Then, like everyone says, contact info LARGE and EASY to read! #1 priority.

^^ Loi, I have had OTG (Andrew) make a few decals for me. All have turned out great, and his customer service is great as well. I would strongly advise having him bid for your job.
 
Loi: I finally got back to GA and made time to make that logo for you. It's a starting point at least!



Also, you might want to consider a rear window perforated graphic. Unlimited colors and layouts and you can't tell it's there from the inside.
