so my mom barily ever washes her car, and when i did wash it for her, i found this mark (picture below) ... its been there for quite a while, im thinkin over a year ... i tried to claybar the left part of that picture that is showing, spend around 10 minutes on it but all it did was flatten it, and it doesnt seem like it is going any further ... anyone have any other suggestions on how to remove it? :(

My guess is pine sap/tar.

That's gonna leave a mark, I'm afraid.

Start with isopropyl rubbing alcohol.

how exactly do you apply the alcohol, i put it on a towel and was scrubin the marks down with it.. didnt look like it did anything with it, still looks teh same :(

I read in the Perfect Detailing Book that vinegar is good to remove the water spots. You should try that. :nixweiss

For tree sap that has hardened, carefully scrape the top of the spot off with a plastic razor blade to expose the softer sap inside.

Soak a towel with the solvent placing it over the sap and let soak for 10-minutes, repeat in order for the solvents to break down the sap, once its removed re-apply sealant / wax protection of your choice Some saps will lift and crack the paint, this damage will require refinishing.

Turpentine is made from tree resins, in severe cases it can be used to break down the resin in tree sap, use as a last resort only and use sparingly and do not rub hard and give it some time to work.
