Hey guys,

I was in a little fender bender and my car got fixed, but now it has some swirls and light haziness/cloudiness. Could any you please let me know what products to use to get rid of the swirlies and little haziness.

As you know, i personally think it would have been worse if I haven't used zaino. When I got my car back, i did wash and gave it a z-1 and z-5 treatment and that helped too. So, i am wondering if i keep z-5ing, will it the swirls get any better?

Please, please help me before I go back to the shop to curse them out ! :-)

Sam,

Keep using the Z5. It takes a few applications before you will get rid of the swirls. Remember, Zaino is non-abrasive so it takes a little longer, but well worth the wait.

swirls where it was fixed? or swirls all over?

My fixed fender bender is the only place on my car that has swirls marks. Ron said it was a sign that the clearcoat wasn't applied correctly and that they either didn't give it adequate time to cure and/or they buffed it to soon and let the buffer get at to high a temperature. Eventually when it get's noticable past standing 3 inches from the car, I will have it re-done (with a warantee).

Thanks for the tip! BTW, who's Sam? :-)

If it doesn't look better after 3 coats, they are too deep for Z5. Press hard and allow plenty of time to dry before buffing off.

THANKS DK!

If Zaino is non-abrasive, then how does it remove scratches? It either removes them (by abrading and smoothing the surface) or fills them (with mineral oils and the like).

Klasse claims essentially the same thing; a non-abrasive that removes scratches.

Although Zaino claims Z-5 to be the only non-abrasive polish that would eliminate swirl marks, many Zaino users say it doesn't eliminate it, just fill it in.

And Zaino call their sealants (Z-2 or Z-5) "polishes."

It fills them in and really works. It doesn't do miracles, but after a few coats it does diminish minor visible swirling caused by towels, etc, etc. That' one of the things I like about zaino. You can get the car perfect and just layer on coats. If some swirls develop, just switch to Z5 till they are filled in, and then back to Z2. Most swirls that develop are in the polish layer anyhow and Z5 even's it out again. If they get REAL bad, then you have to use an abrasive product and start over. With enough care, you might not ever have to do that. Z5 is a great product. Oh, and zaino does not use oils to fill in scratches either. Here are some before/after pics that were posted on this forum by a Z5 user.............

A few of us have noticed that the Klasse Sealant Glaze also performs a similar function as the Z-5. It does indeed fill in minor to medium swirls. Even downright ugly ones are covered up quite a bit after a few coats. Laters.
