Need help coming up with a solution...

I`m on the "get a car cover" wagon. I keep one on my 1993 Caddy. I parked it under my pecan trees for a month without a cover and I regretted it. The accumulated pecan tree sap or whatever comes from the leaves was ridiculous. Now I don`t exactly keep the Caddy up like I do my other cars, but I can say I really haven`t noticed many ill effects from the cover and if I didn`t have the cover it would have to be washed every 3 days, and it`s a boat. Invest in a good quality cover and say goodbye to the leaves and tree sap.

In your situation it seems a cover is the only solution left. If you do cover just keep an eye out for scratching etc. Sometimes you have to pick between the lesser of 2 evils and apparently there are some that can use a cover and not have problems, I hope this is true.

Well, this could go really well or....

Box of termites, you`ll know in a month or so!

Also there might be some provision in the law for fear of damage to property or ones own safety. The town by me gets all pissy about trees but we made the case it could fall on our house (Which one almost did 3 years ago, 90 ft oak). Now we have none.

Sustainable source of energy :D

And unless you`re in CA, it doesn`t pollute too bad........

Would you believe that they`ve banned all fires in Montreal except for charcoal barbecues (due to air pollution)? This is the last year I`m allowed to burn wood in my fireplace for heat.

It really frustrated as my little house has 2 fireplaces that can easily heat my home. I plan to disregard the new law and just say that`s not wood burning smoke coming from my chimnies (not like they are showing up with a warrant). Wood heating cost me $700 for the whole winter whereas electric baseboard heat costs almost that much a month in the winter.

P.S. I like your new profile picture

Google `Portable Garage`
Lots of ideas.

Unfortunately, those types of structures can only be erected during the winter or in the backyard year round.

I use one of those car tents in the winter. Although it`s ugly it works really well. It also had to be installed behind the front most brick of my house past the end of the driveway kind of in my back yard. I laid down gravel to park on.

You have a coating, you need to be washing it with CarPro Reset only, to keep it really clean and working at its best.. You are probably already doing this...

Having lived in California pretty much all my adult life minus a decade in the Pacific Northwest - and even there - I have had at least 6 different car covers on as many vehicles, and from decades of experiences with them, there is nothing better for protecting paint if its going to be outside all the time...

Car covers have evolved long ago from big thick cotton or cotton blend things to really light almost parachute type fabric that is easy to put on, take off, and store when not in use..

The good ones have great elastic that helps hold it on the vehicle tighter and can have a place on the sides of them where you can run a plastic covered cable through under the vehicle to the other side to lock in on the vehicle...

The good ones have great mirror pockets sewn in and some have a hole for external antennas to stick out of...

Yes, it would take a little time to install one on a Grand Cherokee - I know because I have an `09 GC too...
But it can be done and I am absolutely the SME to talk to about how to install it, take it off, wash it, and all the new words you will need to use when its windy..:)

What I can promise you, is that when you see your beautiful SRT8 every day, the cover will have all that gaga on it and the vehicle will be pristine underneath...

Let me know if you decide to go there, and I will help you further...

Good Luck !

I`ll definitely send you a PM. This sounds like the easiest route to go. As it doesn`t interfere with the city/neighbors, or landlord/in-laws.

Thank you!

Get a pellet gun. 1/2 solved.

Guns in the city?! They`ll deport my a$$ back to the US faster than I can say sorry.

Also, they have laws protecting the wildlife (except rat`s and mice). It`s kind of cool to see Cardinals, Blue Jays, and some yellow birds (look like canaries) in the trees during the warmer months.
