I recently bought a brand new 2008 Cadillac CTS and have some swirl marks all over the car. The car is black and I know this is prob the worst color to have as far as swirl mark visibility. The swirls are all over the car but they aren't too bad, only noticeable in the sunlight!!! I am looking for a good detailer who could go to work on my car and remove the swirls. If anyone is out there, please let me know. Thanks, I really appreciate it!!

I saw he was in Dallas, thanks for the suggestion though. I'm off tomorrow so I'm going to try and find a detailer somewhere in Houston.

I think cajun doesnt realzie how big texas is haha, not everything is a hr drive. it takes longer to drive from my house to the other side of texas, el paso, then it would for me to drive to florida

also, 5 million people, im sure there are a few autopians in houston, keep looking, dont rush in making a decision or you will get a hack :woohoo:

im in Houston, but i dont have insurance so i wouldn't feel comfortable doing a full correction on a black car :(

on a side note, josh, if you get this detail let me know whats up :D

Josh -

I'm not sure if you replied back to my work email address or not. I was off today and for some reason I can't access my work emails from home lately.

I am having a hard time finding someone in Houston that knows what they are doing. I am very surprised I haven't found anyone yet in this huge city. I've talked to a couple small detailing companies and I found myself feeling like I know more than they do (and I don't know that much). I don't know, if anyone out there knows anyone or can point me in the right direction, please do. Seems like Dallas has all the pros. In the meantime I'll be driving my "dirty" new car around b/c when I wash it the swirls are more noticeable and I just get depressed, haha.

Thanks everyone. lata

Just use a RO so you cant burn paint, whats the worst that can happen, its a fairly new car so it cant be just horrible lol

Today I had the pleasure of working on Jestin's car. As he mentioned the swirls were not too bad, but the paint also had a few light holograms. As normal the Gm clear was fairly hard, and took some work to get it right.

Process was as follows---

Wash with Chemical Guys Maxi Suds via Foam Gun

Clay was not needed...

Optimum Compound/ Orange Pad

Menzerna 106FF/ Green Swirlbuster Pad

Clearkotes Carnauba Moose

Optimum Car Wax for final wipedown

Tires have Optimum Tire Shine

No befores....

Sorry, I won't be back for a few more weeks. Probably early to mid May.

For full paint 100% correction/swirl removal, I charge $75/hour, figure on an infinity about a 7 hour job typically. (just a guestimation)
