Need decontamination opinions/advice for tonights delivery

Going to try to get the wheels and tires done here to save quarters at the coin op while I still got a little Sun but dang it's brisk outside for an April in Texas

Got a gallons worth of snow soap diluted out. Added 2 oz of pinnacle apc to the gallon too
Kwazar foamer
And wolfs iron remover jist because it all fit nicely. 2 buckets some chenelle mitts and wash dutied cobra microfiber
2oz of ss&s too

Hope the ix snow doesnt ruin the chinelle mitts

Fits nicely in trunk

Already apcd and agitated the lettering all around and the front grill
might do again w snow soap just for good measure

Wheels, barrels and calipers already done too at home

wouldn't the essence take off the oils left from FIXER? plus it says body shop safe doesn't that mean "no oils" or at least supposed to?

Nope, body shop safe does not equal "no oils". Body shop safe means it can be used around freshly painted vehicles. Some silicones and/or distillates that are formulated into a product to make the polish work longer or wipe off easier...can cause major defects to fresh paint. So even though a product is labeled as body shop safe, you should still perform an ipa based wipedown.

I remember when OptiCoat first came out there was a big misconception that using body shop safe products meant you could skip the recommended ipa wipedown.

I always like to give 2 ipa based wipedowns before applying a coating. It might be overkill but if you've ever had any bloodwork done, you know that the nurse or doctor will scrub your skin with an alcohol pad a few times to make sure its clean. Microscopically clearcoat has a lot of pits and valleys and i would hate to spend all my time polishing a car to have a single contaminant accelerate the breakdown of a coating. Plus, while I give the car a wipedow, I can start visualizing how I'm going to apply the coating. Where I should start first and which "line" I should take around the car so I don't skip any areas.

I have the mitt that AG gave away with the 5L jugs of IXSS and it is still good to use and that's going through 4.5L of the stuff with IronX under it. I just wash the mitt twice.

I wish PBMG still carried the 5l jugs.

By the way at the right dilution (8:1) you will see a reaction on light colored paint.

Thanks Ray. That makes sense.

So ipa (optimum paint prep) wipedown after compound before essence it is.

Do i need it after essence? I thought that was the a benefit of essence..not needing another wipedown...if another is recommended then i may see how the uhs system fairs with the orange..i know the black is going to be a PITA.

3 hrs total with walking outside frm starting doing the wheels to sitting down after cleaning my kwazar out and throwing the mitts in the washer when done with claying.

Paint wheels and tires decontaminated and drove home and clayed in the garage (cobra mitt and glide)

Even tried out this worx air i picked up for $74 @ walmart last week....its terrible by the way.Dont ever buy it .anyone. it barely even blows any air.lol

Here's what im dealing with... I forgot to go to Lowe's to get more halogen bulbs so I had to make do with this little LED light I got for Christmas for the time being tonight.
