I have an orange/black SRT8 Charger coming to me this evening for the whole weekend for me to polish and most likely PBL (no sense in not coating if im going to end up with a 2step)
-thankfully I have a PTG now so I feel much more comfortable being able to read the levels at least.

Drop off- around 8pm- hopefully sooner and I have to work be up for work at 6am Saturday

My goal for FRIDAY night is to get the car washed and iron removal/claybar and have it ready to polish once I get off work tomorrow after 4pm. Possibly if im ahead of my game get some paint readings to discuss with you fellas on Saturday while im at work and if im really ahead a couple test spots with readings

This is where I need some help…I’m up against time here and would like to get this step out of the way..I will be doing this at the local coin op a couple blocks down the road from me as I don’t have lights outside of my house nor a pressure washer.

here's my thoughts...

Kwazar Foamer to the rescue- choices (in order of what I think would be best based on what I have and my need to get this part done quickly)

a)Iron X snow foam (two birds with one stone, right?), wash mitts- THEN clay
b)CG Red heavy dilution 2bm wash THEN 3d bdx THEN clay

OR c

c) citrus red heavy out of Kwazar, wash mitts, then BDX or FerreX, THEN clay

What do you all think about the decon process there at the coin op with a Kwazar foamer

Choices are – IX snow, BDX, FerreX from what I have for the iron removal

CG Red is what I’ve used in the past at heavy dilutions to strip.

I'm starting this in a few hours...so I'd appreciate any quick responses

Interesting. I'm on a similar boat.

*when in a time constraint* - Here's what I did about a week ago:
- local coin op. HP rinse, just water
- decon with IronX in spray bottle (only did two panels, as I did it during lunch, and I was only going to polish out one panel anyway)
- HP soap
- HP rinse
- spot free rinse
then, at home....
-rinseless
-clay
-clean/dry
-done

This morning, different car. - Had about an hour before going to my regular job, and used just over an hour
- Car was"washed" prior to taking delivery less than a week ago
- Car was already a bit moist this morning courtesy of mother nature
- IronX in spray bottle
- rinse off with "mobile wash unit" (water tank, 12v pump, garden hose)
- foam gun with 3D Pink soap
- 2BW with 3D Pink
- rinse off with garden hose (as noted above)
- dry

On Sunday, I'll follow up with ONR rinseless as needed, ONR clay lube, and clay it. Follow it up with polishing.

But I'm curious to what others will say. I'm willing to try new things if I see it can work for me (and with what I have)

Using the IronX Snow in the Kwazar should work. At least I would think so.

Sounds like we have the same schedule. I try to wash/decon at night after work to prep for the next day for polishing.

I like using a chemical decontaminant like FerreX or BDX before claying, so I vote for you to take that route.

If really pressed for time, a) - although IronX Snow Soap does a decent job of stripping by itself.

I would:

IXSS presaok and rinse
Apply BDX/Ferrex then spray again with IXSS and dwell for 5 min
Aggitate and rinse wash media as you go
Rinse
And while wet clay car
So you dry as you clay

thanks guys..only had time at work to briefly read the suggestions so far...

I'd really like to knock out all way to a test spot or two before work tomorrow morning but that might be pushing it - we'll see

so just to clarify...aggressive method is

presoak with IX
foam wash with mitts
rinse off
clay after foaming (or could use garden sprayer with clay lube I guess too)
and I guess a final rinse if I use foam and then dry

on the polishing side..
ive seen the paint its pretty bad- thinking maybe Carpro FIXER and then ESSENCE. I wouldn't need a IPA wipedown prior to coating....right? that would also save some time- I need to be coating by Saturday night at the latest

veh will be picked up sunday afternoon/evening but I'd like to have it ready in some good sunlight so he can see what he is paying for, you know- that wow factor..bc he chose me over the ather guy who did his Scat Pack Challenger in the past

man if I could just get like 8 ppl shown in that thread.. lol
would be polishing much quicker!
I was thinking the same thing! Imagine how fast you could knock out a car with that many people. Have they started cloning humans yet? You could clone yourself lol

That's a good question. I never thought of that. But I would think a quick IPA wipedown in between compounding and essence? Not after essence.

wouldn't the essence take off the oils left from FIXER? plus it says body shop safe doesn't that mean "no oils" or at least supposed to?

I've started doing the aggressive wash approach for the past couple of polishing jobs with good results and it's saved me a bit of time and even product since you don't need as many oz. of soap in the gun for suds to come out, plus i add a bit of Megs APC to aid in cleansing/stripping as i'm washing over the dwelling Iron Remover.

Brandt, using the Kwazar sprayer should be similar although i suspect you may end up going through more solution but either way, similar concept since you're just subbing the Foam Gun connected to garden hose for the Kwazar Foamer.

I'm with some kind of IPA type wipe down after compounding before Essence. It may not be necessary because Essence is a polish too, but I want to check my work.
