Need advice on waxes?

Hi there all. Happy Holidays to all. I'm trying to replace my Megs waxes products coz I'm sick of applying it every week. It kinda take my social life away from me. It doesn't last. I have all Megs consumer waxes + M16 + M20. Before using Megs I used Selley's Kit Wax, Polyglaze, Perma Glass, TurtleWax, Black Magic, Soft99.



I'm from Malaysia & the weather here is hot. We don't have Zaino, Menzerna, Pinnacle, Wolfgang, Klasse over here. The best I have is Megs but it doesn't last long. The best durable wax I feel is M16 but its discontinue. What to do? :nixweiss



I guess I will have to give up on my detailing now. Do u think TW Platinum paste will be as good as M16. :dance

the megs 16 is only discontinued in the US, i knw here in canada we can still get our hands on it. what kind of wax are you using? I know you said megs but what type.



If all you have is megs, i would recomned megs 26. it gives good durabilty and a nice look. if you can get other products let me know and I can recomened a few others..such as zymol

I travel to South East Asia several times a year and I fully understand how/why the incredible heat in Malaysia is absolutely brutal on waxes. Meguiar's M1611 is a good choice if you can still get it there. While travelling through Thailand last month, I actually saw a few autoparts stores that still have it so you might get lucky coming across some in Malaysia. Turtle Wax's Platinum Paste is nowhere near M1611 in durability. Your other best bet are waxes from Collinite. I gave some Collinite IW 845 to some friends living in Malacca last year and they love it. They tell me that it easily lasts 3 months or more in spite of the harsh climate.
 
Hi calgarydetail. Well I don't think we can get M26 here. But we have M21. Will M21 be better than my current M16? Actually the M16 is also getting harder to get. :help:



Hi seikoguy. We don't have Collinite over here too. But we do have Zymol / Swissol wax but its very expensive over here.



We mostly have the waxes that I mentioned. I feel megs waxes are good for their shine & easy to use but don't last very long. My M20 only lasted for 2 weeks under the rain & sun. Nxt bout 1 week plus but its shine became less after 5 days or so. DC3 lasted bout 1 week. Same goes to Cleaner Wax. CG bout similar to Nxt. I haven't really tested ColorX coz I top it with Nxt/m16/m20 usually. The most durable I get is M16 lasted for nearly a 3 week or so. But I guess that we are near the Equater, are hotter & things don't really last that long. Hehe. :chuckle:
