Bill1975- Not to get all hung up on semantics, but as I use the term, "marring" is any defect in the surface of the paint. Scratches, etc. The light haze that you're working on correcting is marring to me. It's what causes light to refract instead of reflect and *that's* what makes things look less than swell. If you inspect the paint with maginfication you'll see what's really going on. IMO most of this comes from (improper) washing.
The wash at the dealership would be enough to utterly ruin any finish in my book (been there). It's hard to overemphasize how important correct/gentle washing is, *and* how difficult it is to do. Think about the basic problem- how do you move abrasive dirt off the paint without said dirt scratching the paint? It's like moving sandpaper over the finish and expecting to do it without any abrasion taking place. Pretty tall order, huh?
The TW Zip wash doesn't have what I consider sufficient lubricity to get the dirt off the paint without inflicting tiny scratches. There are better choices. And BTW, some of us with warped senses of humour might say that TW is more imfamous than famous
On the gloss vs. shine, yeah, IMO you're gonna be happier with carnuaba. It's a subtle difference to some people, but to others it's really noticeable.
Yes, you do have to work polishes quite a bit to break them down properly. But as the intructions said, don't work them until they're dry lest you inflict some more of those tiny scratches.
