I'll let all ideas up to you My business name is Presidential Details LLC and my slogan is Passion meets Perfection. I like the whole checkers thing with red, black, grey , white? I'm looking for something nice. As far as payment I'm sure we can work something out. I don't have paypal. I have tons of detailing compounds polishes wax and I have money any takers? In all seriousnous. if someone would be kind to help I would love it! Lets barter something. Or i can mail you a money order I don't know any ideas?

Barry. I would go with a professional designer, who is close by and you can work close with on the design. Try to keep it very simple. Take a look at the logos of big companies for inspiration.

barry, hit up my guy through email...I gave him some options to base his design off of and he came up with mine...I really like it, and it was his design completely

tell him envious detailing sent you

if nothing else, see what he can come up with and a price so he knows I am sending people his way!

I know of professional graphic designer as well (my sister). Let me know!

Unlike me, she doesn't like to show off.

I dabbled a bit in the 90's myself (thank you very much).

Barry,

My best advice would be to find a professional graphic designer in YOUR area. Meet the designer, discuss things like:

1) where you plan to use it (i.e. just on business cards or also on your own vehicle as advertisement, etc)

2) Know how much you are willing to “invest”. I say invest instead of “spend” as building up your company’s image is really an investment that will pay off. As with any other things, you often get what you pay for. A well designed logo will reflect the quality of your work and may give you an edge over the competition...It also inspires confidence. And “detailing” is all about quality and being meticulous with LOTS of attention to detail, right? On the other hand, a poorly designed logo will also speak about your company...but perhaps not so much in a good way.

3) Ask to see the designer’s portfolio. See past work. Do you like what you see? Is it along the style you are looking for?

4) Know the competition. How is their logo? What colors do they use? How can you make your own logo stand out from the lot? How can you be different?

5) There are also a few rules of thumb to good logo design: Keep it simple, avoid overburdening it with lots of fine detail, don’t make it an illustration...keep it stylized, avoid adding photos in the logo, make sure it stands out even when small on a business card, make it communicate quickly what you do, etc

6) You should also ask the designer to generate three different creative directions or ideas so you can choose which one works for you.

I could go on...but I think I’ve gone over my word count limit

Best of luck!

Whatever logo you finalize, a few suggestions:

1) No color variances/fades. This will cause headaches in the future when you go to have vinyl cut.

2) The fewer colors the better.

3) Simple is powerful.

Good luck!

Try to visit the webmaster forums, they're just like Autopia but for Tech Savvy people. One I visit all the time is Digital Point Solutions.

After you get 10 posts you're eligible to post a "Contest" thread where some of the best people will design logo's for you and you can see them all right there on the thread, and then pick the best one. That's what I'm about to do because I just reached ten post's. You can also learn alot about Websites and Optimization that can help you get your website seen. They let you have a link to your site in your signature which helps with your Google pagerank. I posted a thread on there the other day and then I looked on Google under "Detailing" in my area and there my thread was on the third page, I've also moved up in the Google rankings since posting on Digital Point. Just my two cents, Good Luck, can't wait to see it.

Graphic/web/logo design... It's another forum altogether. And consulting with

a pro is the way to go. There are lots of great designs/logos here, why not

ask fellow detailers?
