I'd hit David B. up..........

Thanks for the referral guys...never actually seen anybody searching for a detailer in San Diego before on this site. Nice perk to what is already a highly beneficial site.

Nan, I seriously doubt David would consider it. My reply was a mere attempt to get a respons from David!

Ryan is more then qualified to help you. Ive spoken with Ryan on the phone regarding products on numerous occasion, and he always strikes me a a very thorough and knowlegable detailer. Theres only a few people I know of that I would trust my own vehicles to, and Ryan would definetly be one of them........Ryan, if your close to T.O., I have a 03 Silver Tacoma P/U I just picked up you can play with!

Actually I have a few new items I want to have him try on it!

Thanks for the assurance patrick.

That was some deep stuff...there wasn't ton of sctrathes, but the scratches that were there were deep. I started of with the PC with PO106FF but this didn't even stratch the surface. I then moved on the the rotary with FPII, a green Propel II...even used pretty good pressure on the pad and even ran at 1500 rpms most of the time. But about 20% of the scratches remained...so I'm gonna hit it with another round of FPII via rotary tomorrow. Geez, I never would have thought a new car (that the just pulled the the protective wrap off of) could have such so much scratching... Obviously whom ever washed this thing at the dealership had no clue.

That bad????

Yes, that bad and some - Syllybob can attest. It wasn't covered in a million swirls like a car that'd been washed bad a couple dozen times, but it mine as well have because the swirls that were there were DEEP. Let me put it this way - I covered most areas of the car three times with a rotary and the green propel + FPII and then Shawn (Sullybob followed with the PC and the Blackfire PO106FF polish)...that's 4 polishing rounds... AND still about 15% of the scratches remained! That's as much clear than I wanted to remove, but it had to be done to get it even close to proper. Insane - yesterday I polished a 1 year-old black Honda just twice with FPII via rotary and nearly got it defect free.

That car had some serious dealer installed scratches. It looked like it had been washed with a wash mitt that had been dropped on the ground. Several parts of the car had some major damage, the hood and right above the front tires was the worst. The paint was also very prone to marring. It was a huge learning experience for me.

I feel bad for nanjay. What should have been a very happy time with a new car has been a frustrating experience.

Nan, it sounds like the two gentlemen who repaired your car were a little surprised at the amount of work needed. What caused the severe swirls and other damage?

BTW, thanks for the vote of confidence guys - surprisingly enough, several people from the San Diego area of subsequently booked details with me as a result of seeing this thread...I never would have thought this site would actually generate business. I think people must do an Internet search for "San Diego Car Detailer" or something because I think people are finding this thread through a random Internet search.

So how did Nan's car turn out? RAG- I might be giving you a call, having some trouble with my black S2000 that might be out of my realm of experience...

SDCJ...no problem, I can handle it. I assure you I'm the best around (at least in this County). Check your PMs.

Got my G35 detailed by RAG(Ryan) this week. I just got it back from the body shop a couple weeks ago and the panels they repainted were riddled with holograms. The panels they didn't repaint they left a good amount of scratches, slight overspray and swirls from washing as a courtesy. Ryan is like a magician with the rotary. He managed to get 98% of the swirls/scratches/rust out of the paint. I have a PC and decent skills, but took it to Ryan because I knew my PC couldn't take a lot of these defects out, which he did with ease. Overall, I am very pleased with his work and the car looks better than new. I totally recommend him if you are anywhere near the San Diego area.

I am attaching some pictures, but they're not best since their from my cell. Will get some better pictures Monday.
