Need a gallon of carwash. Optimum or Griot's?

I have used OPT and its the best stuff *I* have used. I think I'm gonna order a gallon but I want some more info on how it stacks up to griot's.

I read tom p's review on the stuff but I'm wondering if anyone else has compared them head to head and what they thought.

I'm still working through my gallons of Griot's, but I'd take Tom P's word for it and save some money sticking with the Optimum.

From everything I have read on here, it seems like Griot's and Optimums seem to be the best traditional washes with Duragloss, Zaino Z-7 and Poorboy's Super Slick and Suds being right on their heels in terms of quality.

I have used Duragloss and Poorboys and both are excellent. However, once my Poorboys is used up, I will probably go 100% rinseless wash (versus traditional wash) using ONR or a similar product.

Optimum or Duragloss, both stellar wash soaps.......

Very true. Even though 99.5% of the time I use ONR, when I do use a conventional wash soap, those two are my favorites.

I really like Optimum's traditional non-ONR soap. It's excellent. Griot's is no push over, but I'd pick the Optimum over it.

You are referring to the car wash, not ONR, correct?

How so??

See ya. :wavey

Duragloss 902

Optimum seems leave a less desirable finish after drying in my experience with a 32oz bottle

Yea, the regular soap. I've seen it leave spotting on rubber trim, and I find that I need to QD/spray wax after washing with it to get the paint to look clean.

It could be my well water not playing nice with it or something, IDK, but DG902 works perfect every time.

Hmm...that's interesting about the spotting. Wonder if it *is* a matter of the water

I've seen a well known member on here make a similar claim on the optimum, I just don't remember who

Sorry for the newb question but would either carwash brand be suffice for a person using it as pre-wash before i clay, polish and wax my car???
