I've got a Navy Blue SL 550 to detail this Sunday. I'm super excited about it since it will be my first vehicle w/ a price tag over 100K. I haven't seen it yet, but the owner says it's in need of a complete detail. I have the following products in my aresnal and was hoping some of you could give me your opinion on which sequences to use. PB 1, 2, 2.5, PwC, PwS, and QW; Zymol cleaner wax; Meg express wax; Automagic express wax. I think I need a better LSP. What do you guys recommend? Thanks!

so is your question what kind of LSP to use? If so do you want a wax or a sealent?

And with the price tag, treat it like any other car. You may have some fun on that clear , but it should be like nay other detail.

I was wondering what steps or order some of you would take w/ the available products. Can I use the PwC or PwS as the LSP?

Always use the least aggressive approach first, if you have to step up to something with more bite, do it slowly. The only way to know for sure is when you look at the finish, and not all surfaces may require as strong of a polish.
You could finish of with either PwC or PwS. I don't much much about the other products that you mentioned, maybe someone else can jump in to lend a hand.

It sounds like what you for LSP's are all types of 1 steps, you may want to look in the future, for sealants or waxes for more variety.

Good luck

You may want to pick up something like Megs #26 which you could find locally. It's a wax and has no cleaners in it. There are other lsps that I carry but most I think are mail order so time wouldn't get you that. #26 I've seen at a number of stores, but got mine at a Napa Auto Parts store. I know I've seen it at other store but can't remember which ones for sure carry it. Mothers makes a California Gold Carnauba non cleaner wax that can be found locally.
As for order of things it would depend on the cars condition, method (hand, PC, Rotary). Always a good idea to start with least aggressive and move up. If the PWC or PWS looked good then you could just do that and top with a Carnauba like #26. If they didn't achieve the result you were after then use the SSR's. I haven't used PWC in a while or PWS at all but if they didn't get the paint where you wanted then I doubt the Cleaner or Express waxes would . If you used the SSR's you could finish with the PWS and top with #26 or similar. I don't know if the PWS has to cure before topping. While I've been mobile cleaning for a long time I have done very little total swirl removing so others with more experience may better advise if that is what you are doing. I don't charge for or do any work that involves a lot in the polish stage of things. I basically wash, clay, PC or Hand I'll use a light polish, one step product or paint cleaner and lastly top with a paste wax or sealant.

Sorry but........if you haven't even seen it how can you ask what products will be needed????? How can you even bid on the car? What kind of work will be involved and how will you know without going over the car inside and out?

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for you. I've never done a car that expensive but seeing it first would be an absolute must in order to do the job correctly. I wouldn't dare suggest anything because no one knows what condition the paint or interior is in.

We'll I finished up the SL 550 today around 4:30. It was in really good shape as far the paint is concerned. I did the following, and the customers was extremely pleased and wants me to come every 2 weeks to keep it up. She even tipped me an extra 20.

Process: Wash w/ Meg Hyper Wash; Clay w/ blue clay magic, PwS w/ PC.

I was very thankful that was all it needed.

Glad to hear that your customer was pleased.
Even better that they want you to come back on a regular basis
