I have been seeing this product on some other forums and was wondering what's your take on this product. Some call it the Clay Bar replacement of the near future. As anyone here got to try it out?
 
Doc, you use it on a DA polisher. It is a pad that goes on a DA and you just spray a lubricant onto the paint. The pad doesn't absorb the lube, it just spreads it around.
 
Interesting. I don't know how I feel using a DA to do a clay replacement though... would definitely want to try it thats for sure.

That's the one I'm talking about Iomcamaro, I myself will have to see about getting it and trying it out on the wife's car......

Looks like an extra step of polishing to me. From the video I feel like me and the Ultima elastobar can get it done faster without the need of pulling out a machine. Just my .02
 
I would have to try this, but I feel that I could get this done quicker with my system of Iron X and running a fine grade clay over the paint afterwards.

I feel it had to be worked for quite some time on the truck though.

once again... would really have to try this.....

I guess I'm skeptical until I try it. I don't think this can get into the contaminants as well as Iron X can and don't think it can get the paint as smooth as IronX + clay can.

The way he was coaching Reuben to say what he wanted him to say didn't inspire me.

I have about five different concerns but am fully openminded to the fact it may indeed work. Having said that I currently feel my Iron X and a quick clay is less invasive. Seems like a possibility you could swirl your paint up using a machine to spin grit around. Of course in some situations that wouldn't matter much on a car that needs compounding.

I'd love to try it but I have enough stuff

After looking at those other 3 videos I agree with both of you.
 
I would be afraid to pickup something with this system and not know it and end up with scratches. At least with a clay bar you have to knead it and inspect it with each panels. Also I think that in some areas on some cars you would have to tape, again with clay you can get close to delicate objects without problems.

I agree with all that said claying appears to be much faster.
 
Well, I dont know how good this works, since I have yet to see a good close up of the areas that were worked on and wiped dry.

As far as speed goes, it would have to be way faster than a claybar - think about how dirty lower panels are on most cars (not ours, because we Detail them!), and how much time it takes to either clean your claybar or knead it to a clean spot, to only go a small way and its all dirty again, and requires cleaning, kneading, etc...

And, since its being used with a Random Orbital, there isn't really a reason to tape up anything - just slow down close to things, stay away from them, or don't go near them at all. A Random Orbital is so much easier to control than a Rotary.

If the "disk" is self-cleaning or something, then plowing through dirty rocker panels, etc., should not present any extra marring either.

I would have to think that if this works great and doesn't mar the paint ever, and leaves it really clean or cleaner than a claybar and/or these Iron-x products, then it would have to be faster since there is no stopping to clean, just spray and go, one pass, no extra applications of chemicals, etc...

Its located in La Habra, CA., their website is still under some construction, as all products are not really there yet, no pricing, but found the 6" autoscrub pad on Amazon for $49.95 - YIKES !! They show 3", 4" and 6" pads on website.. And a whole lot of other stuff as well.
Anybody out here in California want to go over to Harbor Blvd and check them out?
