Mytee Dry Upholstry Tool Review

Amazing review! Thanks for taking the time to make these videos! I busted the hose on my Aztec Hot Rod extractor and actually called them today to upgrade to a clear top upholstery tool but it was out of stock. So I decided to wait to do a little research and stumbled onto your videos on YouTube. I'm sold. I love how much more maneuverable this tool is compared to the old one.

Sweat the Details -

Thank you for taking the time to research the tool and make these videos..

I have been using a Mytee HP60 for almost a decade and right away figured out I wanted to get a couple of extractor tools of different lengths, with the water jet INSIDE the tool so there would be less chance of it going past the width of the wand, and this has worked perfectly inside a vehicle and of course, outside when you are extracting the carpeted floor mats..

I also have the stainless steel tool you have with the jet mounted under the wand..

I also thought about the problem getting into the tighter areas around vehicles, especially between the seats and console, underneath the seats to a certain distance (as you moved the seat all the way forward, and then backward), and then all the sides of the seats and that edge next to the door sill, all the way from the inside of the vehicle along the door sill, to where it stops and under that seat edge if possible.

I found this tool, a long stainless steel extractor tool with the water jet inside the tool as well, so there was no danger of spraying everywhere here too..
Here is a link to that tool - there may be a longer one as well configured like this one - Pmf Internal Spray Crevice Wand 500 Psi - Cv25sb - Auto Detail Wands - Auto Detailing & Car Wash
The area on the other side of the accelerator pedal next to the console, and under it is pretty much easy to reach with this long stainless steel extractor crevice tool...

I also had the challenge of the outside water hose coupler getting really hot and found some thick foam like the one over the water connection of the hose to the tank in front, and slit it and put it over the connectors, put a wide Mytee velcro strip over the connectors, and tightened it down enough so it would keep that big heavy thing up off the ground so it wouldnt hit anything or burn me and this has also worked out perfectly..

I think that over time, the weight of the 2 hoses in the coupler together will cause one or both hose ends to wear enough to break sooner if they are not velcro'd tight up on the bigger vacuum hose..

The only thing it did was now I have to undo that wide velcro strip, pull the black foam insulation off, and disconnect the tool and plug in the the other one..
So I plan on using each tool as much as possible all the way around the vehicle one time, and then the other tool, so I only have 2 tool changes to make..

In your 2nd video I noticed you had the key on, the entire time I think you were rinsing and extracting that side of the test carpet...

That is way more water than I would ever use to clean and extract a carpet unless I knew it was really full of sand or something that is heavier than dirt to push off the bottom and extract out...
And I as you also probably do, spend a lot more time extracting the carpeted or cloth areas to get as much dirt laden moisture out of the carpet and of course, this will speed up drying time a lot..

I have seen plastic extractor tools for years and have never heard of any lasting very long before they broke from just pressing them down over and over with hot water running through them, or getting dropped and cracking them, and now you have a vacuum leak and its going to get worse..

I am surprised that this new tool makes you go through so much more water... If its going to be sucking up the water before it hits the carpet, Im not sure how effective that will be especially if you now have to spend a lot more time filling up your tank..

Hope this new Mytee design works well and continues to evolve into the best compromise for everyone's different needs!
Thanks again for your hard work on this !!!

Excellent videos. Great job. Wish I had clear heads for my Spyder. Hope these tools hold up for a long time. Then maybe I can consider buying one. Thanks again

Dan, just checked out your link. That must be very nice to have it spray on the inside. Mine sprays on the outside and can make a mess.
them you use the factory stainless head for regular extracting?

My Friend,

I use both tools for rinsing and extracting that have the internal spray jet always inside the tool, so there is always controlled spray flow...

To clarify - these tools with the internal spray jet do NOT have the water hose inside the hose like this new Mytee tool does, ok ?

Believe I may have bought those 2 tools with the internal valve from those guys at Steambrite, in San Antonio, Texas, back in 2005..

Another thought - how about getting a different sized and flow pattern jet and remove the one on there and replace it ?
If its better to have less spray with a narrower pattern all the time, then it would probably be a good idea to check that out too..
And sometimes, that little spray valve can get clogged causing it to go haywire...
Good Luck !
