My Zaino has been "Out Klasse'd"

Wow, I like how the yellow came out. I always see yellow as a color that appears pretty flat despite the best efforts of their owners. I always have to squint and imagine that I am seeing wet, reflective and deep paint. You managed to make yellow look good. Great job.

IMO, true durability doesn't depend on slickness; it depends on protecting your paint, which is typically monitored by beading.

Sounds like a difference of opinion. I think durability encompases just about everything.

I tend to agree with ZaneO. I pretty much monitor durability by how well the finish is still beading, both after being in the rain and by washing. So far, I have had excellent results with Zaino, which has narrowly bested my next favorite, which is Meguiar's No. 20.

You didn't address this to me, but I'll answer since I'm opinionated and I've used both.

The comparrison between EX-P and WG is no contest. I applied EX-P over AIO and it's miles wetter and more durable than WG. The only area where WG is better is the slickness.

If I can ask a question , since I have used both products and have seen different results than yours also, what did you use under Wolfgang ???

The reason is that Klasse AIO is an acrylic sealant and contains a very hard sealant in itself. Adding EX-P , I believe a poly sealant, would provide another level of protection.

If you used Wolfgang by itself, or with its precleaner only, then you really didnt give it a fair chance. Curing time between levels, and uses of quick detailers, can also provide different results.

I have repeatedly gotten 9-10 weeks of protection from Wolfgang over its precleaner, DACP, and even Einzzett Polish with 2 weekly washings and QD. I would not go any longer on the Vette but it is still beading when removed. I use EX-P on the wifes car and get similar results. Her car is washed only once weekly and I do use Sonus over it for best results.

My results:

EX-P is very thick, dusts, and doesnt look as good as Wolfgang initially. After two weeks, they look remarkably similar, with similar protection. When you include Wolfgangs ease of use, and quick removal it seems to be a very good choice in sealant. I did not like EX-P at first, it seems to miss Wolfgangs glow and Zainos reflectivity, but after the first washing and some time in the heat, it seems to take on a better appearance. Sonus also seems to help it in the reflectivity department.

I did use WG over it's polish. I figured that was more fair than putting it over a differing product like AIO.

Maybe it wasn't as fair as I believed, but I still want my finish to provide more slickness than WG did.

Fair enough ....

Wolfgang has some great slickness initially and I dont feel that EX-P even compares, but WG slickness factor falls off quickly without use of its QD. I understand why some feel that durability is challenged since this factor is removed so quickly. But as others have commented, it still beads rather well (nice an uniform) showing that protection is still there.

Thats why we all have different choices ... heck, I miss carnuba and love to add a level of Souveran for that wetness factor that sealants just cannot seem to match.

Save your money on Souveran...Buy the Natty's instead!

I did a side-by-side at Poorboy's Worls Detailing day on my red Lexus SC430 where Souveran really shows well.

After applying Souveran on one panel and Natty's on another, I had the group come and take a stab at guessing which was which. Not may got it right and in the outcome, we all agreed that Natty's Paste is a much better value than Souveran. They look the same, with one exception and I seem to notice... Nattys is clearer. Souveran slightly detracted the brightness by very litlle.

I have always loved Souveran, just the price blows! And, if I can get the same results, a tad clearer for $15.00 I'm sold!

You can see the pics in the thread on Poorboy's Detaling Day.

Deanski

Deanski, you're driving a Lexus SC430 and worried about paying $60 for wax, hehehehe, I guess that's why I can only afford the IS300. I'm just playing.

After a couple years of Zaino I have started using Klasse on my Lex now and it looks great, i'll probably use up the rest of the Zaino I have now and then switch on my truck.

After 7 weeks, my WG looked dead. No slickness (felt like bare paint) and the water pooled and clung to the surface right after washing. For a 2 month sealant, it's a good product (I like the look on my paint). Just don't expect anything more.

Whoa ! Yellow looks awesome ! :xyxthumbs

I think it's meant as Klasse will be used rather than Zaino. Not Klasse to be on top of Zaino....right ?

Can Klasse SG be applied over several coats of Z5 or Z2?

Thanks in advance.

I hate to disagree but as much as I like Nattys, it definitely darkens my paint slightly whereas Souveran is very clear and my car is silver!

Kind of funny how there always seem to be a couple products you keep going back to, huh? I've tried everything on my 626 and keep going back to CMW or NXT.

I agree with Klasse having something over the old Z2 but I don't think it has anything on Pro IMO. I used to use klasse SG on some of my details because to me Z2 wasn't as deep and wet, but with Z2Pro and Z8, I don't think there is anything deeper. Maybe equally or close to SG, but a lot less work. I still use AIO all the time, but the SG is dusting on the shelf. Both are top notch products, but with Zaino being a pleasure to use because of ease and smell, it out classes klasse.

Wow! This *is* an old thread.

Reminds me of the pre-revolution days, before the stars were torn down. :sadwavey:
