Well it looks like they may be declaring a drought emergency here in Pa because of the lack of rain. Its not gonna be fun to not be able to wash the cars. I hope other Autopians are as unhappy as I am... :(

From the Pa drought FAQs:

An individual may wash personally owned or leased vehicles with buckets or by hand-held hose equipped with an automatic shutoff nozzle for prerinse and rinse, <em class='bbc'>not to exceed a total of two minutes spray time[/i]. Water use is limited to odd street addresses on first and third Saturdays of the month and even or no street addresses on second and fourth Saturdays of the month

Violation of is a summary offense. Violators are issued a citation by law enforcement authorities, and the violator is required to appear before a district justice. The penalties for violation of non-essential water use restrictions are a fine not exceeding $ 200 or imprisonment not exceeding 30 days or both, for the first offense, and a fine not exceeding $500 or imprisonment not exceeding 90 days or both, for each subsequent offense.

Being in Montgomery county PA I have gotten used to going to the spray washes. I take a 5 gal bucket with a 1 gal bottle of pre mixed soap and water then work as fast as I can. It usually takes me two cycles of the sprayer to get the job done but its worth it. This works well in cold weather too when your hose is frozen.

i feel your pain pats...

northern new jersey is in a state of drought and it's just a matter of time (spring) before they drop that on us here as well.

It may be sooner than you think. The resovoirs that feed the delaware river are in NY state. They are currently at 36% capacity. Its gonna be a rough summer if we don't get a a whole bunch of precip.
