I stopped into my local Target to check out the new Vroom merchandise. Basically it's Baja Sol rebadged in much nicer marketing material. It's for budget minded folks or for those who need grunge work MF's. But, I give Target props for putting together a nice selection of products for those who maybe can not afford more expensive detailing accessories or who can't order online.
However, one product caught my eye. It's the large microfiber drying towel at 6.5sq ft. 23.5 inch x 40 inch. This sucker is basically a bath towel!
I like it because it feels EXACTLY like the Viking drying towel MF that is 1/4 the size. DavidB used to sell them. I have a few and they're my favorite drying towel. They are just as plush and thick and when folded, they are like a pillow. I was very impressed.
So I decided to buy one; just one. They are $7.99 a piece. Here is where it gets interesting. I go to the checkout counter. The store is like empty. She rings up the towel; no price. She tries again; no price. It isn't in the system she tells me. She walks over to the customer service department and the woman behind the counter says, "Oh, that's 12 pack flannel rags. It's $2.38." (An obvious mistake) Well, my eyes grew wide when she walked back as I was anxious to see if my ears were correct in what I heard. Since nobody was behind me, I calmly asked the woman if I may get a couple more towels (my moral dilema lasting all of 2 seconds). She said sure. So I walked around the corner and sprinted like a fool down the store, grabbed 7 more towels (to make 8 all together) and raced back to the line. She checked them out, I paid and flew out the store. So instead of paying $63.92, I paid $19.04!
