My turn to show off

After being primarily a lurker on the board, I figure it's time to show off my car too (now that I have one I feel is worth showing off).

Still needs some work, I have some micro-marring to tackle as I learn my PC better, but I feel I made some good progress for my lack of skill so far. :wavey

They were taken with an old 2MP camera, so I apologize ahead of time for the bad quality.

So what products and processes have you tried so far? Car looks really good to me. :)

Honestly, I'd take an S2000 with swirls over my almost no swirls 626. ;)

Hearing your approval certainly means a lot to an amateur like me :D

Ssince I just finally had time and cooperating weather this last weekend to start trying out some things, I havent done much.

Wash with Megs Gold Class, two buckets

Clay with a Megs White Clay kit

SSR2.5 on a Wolfgang Orange pad on PC

SSR1 on a WG White on PC

followed with the K-Twins by hand, two coats of SG so far, plan on getting 4 or 5 total (for no other reason than just because) and then topped with Megs NXT Tech Wax

Next time I attack it (when I have time) I plan to give some DACP a try and will be ordering some Zaino materials just to give them a fling after hearing so many recommendations.

I love the car, and I envy your license plate! A couple more years in this state and then I'll be headin' your way. Where are you at in Oregon?

Right smack in the middle, in Bend. 3-4 hours from anywhere else, starting to get to a point of having "city" life, yet still able to escape to nature with a 10-20 min drive.

Looks like you are pretty tall, how well do you fit in there?

I'm 6'2 and I feel like I'm right about at the limit of being able to sit comfortably. The seats hug me very well. The only real downside is having to cock my head to the side if I'm first in line at a light so I can see it.

Small price to pay

What's better about the Werkstatt twins compared to the Klasse twins?

Similar products but newer, nano versions. Definitely wetter and deeper. Easier to use too. However, if you have a lot of Klasse, you might want to use it up first, still an excellent product line.

I'm thinking about moving to the Eugene/Corvallis area. Just on the outskirts of the city, where, like you said, nature is only a short drive away. I won't be too far from the coast, and not too far from my brother (who lives in northern CA). One of my biggest concerns is winter temperatures--I want winter low temps to be above freezing. The winter here is a serious source of stress for me.

Nice..it's a nice area..much more mild than here for sure. Us eastern side oregonians like to joke about how the west side of the mountains, cities virtually shut down if they get an inch of snow, where everyone here is plowing through a foot in little econo-cars.

:chuckle:

Heh, my econo-car has had enough of plowing through snow. I do enjoy driving through the snow with my Dunlop Winter Sports, but after a couple times, it's just a PITA and I can't wait for spring. It's fun until you get out and look at the car.

I'll come visit ya sometime when it's warm and snow-free. :) How far is it from Corvallis to Bend?

Is Bend the city with a huge number of roundabouts? I never did care for those, but I guess I could get used to them.

Dont even get me started on the roundabouts...... :bat They're a joke. We have more than 10 on one side of town all within a mile or two of road. Our city council concept seems to be "when in doubt, roundabout" Wouldnt be so bad if people knew how to use them....I only try drifting through them once in a while (kidding)

As I said, Bend is about 3-4 hours from just about anywhere else in OR. Just depends on how you drive :chuckle: Feel free to hit me up when you plan make your way over.
