My thoughts on Finish Kare FK1 Pink Wax.

03COBRA

I miss my 03 Cobra......
This is my first review, I'm giving the Anthony Orosco method a try, so any and all comments would be great! Good or bad, just like to hear what you guys think! :D

Product name: Finish Kare USA FK1 Pink Wax #2685

Product type:Carnauba Wax

Packaging:Comes in a tin round can.(pics bellow) The can is roughly the size of the Meguiar's #16 can. The lid pops off with ease, but yet you can feel it making a good seal when you put the lid back on. Just an easy pop with a flat head screw driver will do the trick.

Application:I used a Pakshak yellow foam applicator. I dampened the applicator using Adam's Detail Spray. With the can being roughly the size of Meguiar's #16, the applicator fits in very easy. The product itself is very soft, which is a plus for me. One very light swipe into the can puts enough product on the applicator for an average door, or half a hood. A little swipe goes a long way, trust me! I let the product set up to a haze, in my case about 15 minutes, then buff off to an incredible finish. Removal is very easy, in my case I used a Pakshak yellow ultra fine.

Smell:About as you good as any chemical can smell I guess, without any smell good additives. So not very good I would say. But you do not get a wiff of the product as you work with it, so the smell really doesn't effect antyhing.

Personal opinion:This is my new, and quite possibly my only Carnauba wax. No i'm not kidding. So far I have tried this product on silver, black, and dark red. Every color has a deep, wet reflection. It's almost weird how it looks so similiar on every color, but compliments the color without hindering it.(Spell check on that one) It's just one of those products that really catches the eye when you look at it!

Price:$14.77

Size:15oz

Pros:

--Price

--Amount of product

--Easy application and removal

--Versatility on different colors

Cons:

--None Yet :xyxthumbs

Nice review!! Thanks!! :up

Where can you purchase this product line from?

I made the product name the link to the product!:D Mike, I would highly recommend this to someone like yourself. I think you would find it's versatility very useful.

It really looks awesome on those vehicles.

For cons, I would say "dry/dwell time @ 15 mins". Unless you are just leaving extra time.

Not so sure! In my case, once I'm done applying to the surface, I just go back to where I started and remove. Doesn't it take about that long to apply a product by hand, or am I slow?

hhmm... looks like a good product. i wanna buy some 16 this week and now i wanna try this. do you have any comments on the durability? i want 16 for the durability but i wanna try this cause i am a sucker for every product that gets good reviews!

Vernon

PS: the pics looks great.

Well Vernon, I don't have any thoughts on durability. As far as #16, FK1 Pink Wax blows it away as far as looks and application. I just wish I could give you some feedback on durabilty. It's less than $20 shipped from Finish Kare, so it can't hurt to try. Besides, it's 15oz, so if you like it, it will last awhile. I ordered their sealant, I will let you know what I think of that when I get it! Thanks for the nice words!

It is a little bit softer than say #16. But it is kind of nice especially when your applying the stuff, just a light swipe into the can and there us plenty to do a door, or half of a hood!

O4cobra, How does it do on metallics? Does it bring out the metal flake like Pinnacle Sig Series is reported to do?

Burlyq: My initial test of it gave me about 6 weeks through some pretty crazy rain we were having. I only applied it once, I didn't even put 2 layers on it. I would think a second layer would have yielded some better durability #'s. Even after 6 weeks, I couldn't call it totally dead, but getting there.

wannafbody: Here is what the description on the can says. "New blend of carnauba and high grade resin". Don't know if that means it has polymers or not! But is there such an animal, a true carnauba? I would think every carnauba has more than just carnauba to make it produce the results it does!:nixweiss

That is serious shine on white! And the bluish hue is great (yes, I know what pigments are in your paintwork...)!!!

I'm planning to purchase FK products too. It seems to me that Floyd L. Meguiar was the more sophisticated mind of the family who never wanted to compromise quality and results, and Barry went more in the direction of mainstream/popular/traditional. I think FK is more contemporary, ... but... I want practical experience! My fellow countrymate Tdekany recommended me FK products, then I saw the beautiful results on Sean's Integra, so I really want to try them.

The blue hue that you see is the blue pearl step in my custom paint job. :)

The Pink wax is simply AMAZING, It goes on and comes off almost exactly as S100 does. S100 and FK1 Pink wax are my two favorite waxes.
