My Porsche 997 Unicorn

Remember how they described the Shelby in the latest Gone in 60 Seconds? It was the Unicorn. No matter how many times you tried to steal it, it would always get away. That is what this car is for me. Every single time I have detailed it the weather has gone south. Either the weather goes south or the sun goes down. Either way, I don't get to take any pictures. Today wasn't much different. It was a nice enough day for detailing, but it got overcast and the light really went to hell. So these are the best pictures I could get with the conditions I had. It is a beautiful car that really deserves better photography to show it off, but you get the idea.

Products used were Danase Swirl Abolisher I and Polycharged Danase Wet Glaze. I'm going to be slapping some UPP with Polycharger on it one day soon, so durability wasn't my greatest concern this time out. Also there are some pictures of the fabulous microfiber detailing apron with cable loops in action. I love that thing... It is the best accessory to detailing since those little rubber chisels that get between body panels during final detailing. This thing is just absolutely great.

Nice to see one of your details again, sir. I especially love Black vehicles detailed. I am not familar with the Danasse Swirl abolisher but just completed a test on DWG. Very good choice for Black. It its durability is pretty good for a glaze. you should have a well protected vehicle when you get some UPP on the paint.

Nice to see your son. He is growing up and looking good!!

^^ Exactly. lol He loves to help out, but when it comes to polishing out a $130K car I'm not comfortable giving him the PC just yet. So I give him a bottle of Meguiar's Quick Interior Detailer and a microfiber and let him go to town on the interior. There isn't anything he can mess up with that product and it actually does help get things started. He's been out there detailing with me since he was old enough to stand. I can't wait to see what kind of a detailer he will be when he is old enough to drive. Not many of us can say we have been doing this our whole lives. ;)
