My new truck

Congratulations!
The first of anything is always a memorable occasion.

As far as the economy or lack thereof, give this example some thought.
1. You drive 12,000 miles a year.
2. The truck gets 15 mpg.
3. Annual gas use, 800 gallons.
4. A truck you weren't really interested in gets 20 mpg.
(If you had been interested in it, you would have bought that one.:))
5. Annual gas use to drive the truck you didn't want, 600 gallons.
6. 200 gallons extra @ $3 a gallon = $600 per year extra to drive what you want.
7. That's about the cost of one of those soft drinks per day to be happy.
Sounds like a deal to me. :bigups

:hmmm: Ok, You have me scratching my head on this one. You can afford to spend $2k. on a jar of wax but you can't afford to buy an F150? What am I missing?

car are alot more expensive here. the f150 i looked at (had some options) was over 40k CDN, we pay a huge premium to buy cars in canada... and 2g is only 2g.. not to sound snoby butat then end of the day its not 40...

I'm on my fourth one of these trucks. Just picked up an 08 Lariat 2 weeks ago. I've had on 02, 04, 06 and now an 08. In fact I had it Linex'd on Friday. Most of these trucks mileage was in the 14 - 15 m.p.g. range. With a few mods you can get them closer to 20 m.p.g. Mine will do 21 on the road. Now whether the mods out way the cost of the fuel is another question but the good news in every case the H.P. went up. Anytime you can gain H.P. and increase mileage it's a worthwhile endeavor in my book. Pockets if your interested let me know. The 08 hasn't received any of them yet.

Nice looking truck. Are you going to keep the factory bed liner or go with a spray-in? Does it have a GPS? I saw a "black thingie" on your roof.
Thanks
eric

AB hit it on the spot. It is sat. radio it came with it i got 6 months free then it wont work again lol.

Cool reasoning Charles i like it. I will remember this thing lol.

OK i see the Wacker lights made it in...

I see dealer installed swirlies......

Keep it on the tires and your do well.

Of those firefighters killed while en route to an incident, 85 percent were volunteers. Since 1984, MVCs have accounted for between 20 and 25 percent of firefighter fatalities annually. One quarter of firefighters who died in MVCs were killed in private/personally owned vehicles (POVs). Most volunteer departments do not require personnel to stand by in the fire station; members are allowed to respond directly to incidents from their homes or workplaces, often in their POVs. As a result, volunteers are more likely than career firefighters to be killed in POV collisions.

BE SAFE

Nice upgrade! You can help Steve haul lots of boxes in that bed. :D

Looking forward to seeing it in person.

-Marj-

P.S. I'd invest in a can of Scotchgard to protect your upholstery and carpet while it's still new.

I am curious as to where the wire is that is supposed to be coming out of the antenna for the Sat. radio? I really didn't notice one. How the the heck does the wire get routed to the radio? Nice truck,....even though I prefer Toyota.

That is the first thing that he said lol. I never thought of the scotchgard will pick some up.

it is perminatly installed there is probally a hole in the roof that the wire goes through. The sat radio is already intertwined with the radio in the car. So even if i want to get rid of it i cant

I remember my first dent/ding on my new truck back in 1988. Was finishing up thepaper work at the dealership, and here is to guys leaning on my truck!!!! I had waited 3 months for the truck to come in! I hadnt even wrote the check for it.Man was I pissed!!! Still can see that dent around other dents and rust on that pickup. The mothers Cali Gold that I applied back then just didnt seem to keep the old girl from rusting out. Dont think the 2006 trailblazer will last thatlongeven with PBs Red, White, and Blue!!!! RANDAL
