Well I got my new site getting up and ready, not done yet, but I wanted to get some comments on the general layout, how it should be changed ect.

PS its not flash for the buttons, its **********, so netscape well have to live with the standard buttons.

The banner is going to be changed to this....

Banner will also be toned down a little so its easier to read the text.

EDIT: It blocked out java script when put together so I don't know.:nixweiss

Probably be easier to comment on when it's all together, but i would start by changing the font on the buttons.

Do you do your own designs?

Hey there....

buick_guy, I'm also 15 and I'm almost done putting together my business. I'm going to start doing vehicles in Sping 2005 (since winters obviously don't work) and I was wondering what kind of products you use and how you get people to purchase your services when you're 15! That's the only thing I'm worried about is the fact that I'm just a teenager and people may not take me seriously, but I know my stuff and I think I offer good services!

Thanks,

Carl

I use mostly meguiars, and use a good sealant ( klasse, wolfgang) for the higher priced services. Shoot me a PM about what you'd like to know so we can keep this on track.

I was going to suggest to show your own car as a reference but you are only 15, so that is out of the question.

I thought about it, wouldn't work too well, since I don't want to use my parents buick.

The buttons are pretty hard to read. You should aim for something that is east on the eyes. I too am in the process of re-building, check out the new site if you want ideas: www.ddetail.com/beta

(YES mine has a TON of issues, but they will be worked out over the winter when i have a nice desk job)

Looks like you've put a lot of work into it so far, and it's coming along nicely. I just wonder how sure you are about the name "Steve's Auto Car Care." To me it seems both redundant and vague. If you use "auto" then you don't need "car," and vice versa. Leaving them both in could lead to people thinking you have an automatic car wash that you run or use.

Also, it generally sounds like the name of a local garage, where you could get mechanical work done. If I were you, I'd work the word "detailing" into the name, so people who are looking will know right away that you provide the service they are after. Maybe "Steve's Stellar Auto Detailing," or "Steve's Spectacular Car Detailing."

I agree about the name, I don't like it. It was just to get started, now that I might be partnering up with a local hot rod shop, I think I'll have to call it "50 Below Ice Shine" or something catchy like that.

This shop was rated 2nd in the city for detailing, and they just let they're detailer go, so they've seen my work, and want to get me started.

I'm just going to use this for my side detailing.

BTW, how do you like my name 50 below name?

"50 below ice shine"? sounds like a title to a movie or something.

Make it simple and easy to remember, I'm not very good, but I'll try a few and give you an idea.

-Detailing By Steve (This works because it's straight forward)

-Perfect Shine (what everyone wants)

-Mirror Images (people dream of this, I know I do :D )

-Reflections (What many nice cars give off)

-More Shine (even professionals are looking for this)

-Slick Finish (a little smooth operate like name)

Leave it with Steve, and you shall receive! Just Kidding But you get the idea.

Most of these names can be used to describe a car that was well detailed.

Hope this helps
