Can't see the pics here (blocked) but sounds like you guys are discussing a work platform with extendable legs.
I got one from HD awhile back with the extendable legs and a nice raised platform. The platform cuts down on the area available to walk on, but is a great place to put your PC, polishes, towels, etc. on so you don't need to bend over or step off the platform to get something.
