My new favorite Sealant is......(update & video w/Part A & B)

Bob, why would you write off the entire line if one product doesn't work? I have many companies products here, while some work great from each line other products may be outstanding. I know I'm preaching to the preacher, but I think if you try some of there other products "if you haven't already" you may be gratefull you did.

On a side note I really need to try these pads.

Barry, in the past on trips to So.Cal I would stop at some of thier stores(Always get gas in Valencia before going over the "Grapevine" so I tried the wash/QD/ clay and found P&S stuff worked better on those particular items......that being said if something makes the car look like the 997 Turbo Dave did I pay attention.

Bob, I know how you feel - and I'm like that too, but I've tried several of the 3D products and I've been pleasantly impressed. I like the Pink Car wash, Wash & Wax, Metal Polish, Yellow and Orange degreaser, Bug remover and hey UNO and POXY have replaced Menzerna & BFWD for me.

Bob - Thanks for your very kind compliment. Coming from you I am truly pleased that this thread has caught your eye. You of all people know Porsche paint better than anyone and realize how nice they are to work on. This one was no different. It's the 2nd time correcting it actually and the 1st was a while back where I wet sanded(3000 Trizact) pretty much the entire car due to some deep RIDS and marring. Here's the car then prior to wheels and exhaust in its sanded state:

Since then my client has taken pretty ok care of the car, but still lets the local hack n washer do his weekly thing on it. This guy even attempted to rotary/wool pad the front hood clear bra in an effort to remove some bugs and left some pretty severe halos in it. Here's a video to show you how this car looked before correcting it this time. I know the video doesn't show the entire car in it's real state(halogen light with smart phone video :grinno:), you should be able to get a taste for what this car was all about when I pan onto each quarter and then untimately the hood/bra area which is horrendous.

Because most of the marring was pretty shallow, I was in no way going to hammer it like last time. I basically relied on what 2-stepping with UNO was going to create. The owner was blown away. As a matter of fact this is the e-mail he sent me:

Hi David,

Just wanted to drop a line and tell you what an amazing job you did on my car. You are truely a magician, I am amazed every time you deliver the car back to me.

Thanks again,

Dave that is a "Bad a** Porsche certified "Tightness", allright now I am intrigued.......... it was just that the original HD Uno did not work well for me so I Wrote off the line.

I kind of did the same thing Bob; well atleast for UNO at the time. But, 3D kept sending me UNO beta samples and the product started becoming more and more user friendly. Many aren't aware that the abrasives(powder) and lubes were tweeked quite a bit since this product's initial launch a couple years ago. The current production version(#3) is what I basically used on this Porsche. And, I can honestly tell you that UNO with a Meg's MF cut noticably better and longer than M105 too. It's works incredible on clear bra btw. Pad/product marring was pretty close though and required just a final polishing for the win. I hope you reconsider trying UNO again. Any any rate I'm sure you'll love Nitro Seal. If you still have problems feel free to reach out to either Barry, Thomas or me for some pointers. One thing I like doing after buffing each panel is to wipe the surface down with 3D/HD's Waterless Wash/TOTAL. It removes any semi-bonded residue with ease. Hope this help!

I have experienced zero improvement in cutting action. But that is not a bad thing since the original product has been like nothing else except for Meg's 105. Uno has been an excellent product from day 1.

Thanks for catching that error Thomas. It has been corrected to show that the Powders(and lubricants) in the formula have changed to improve the effectiveness of the product and help with its removal. The level to which the product cuts has remained unchanged.

There is a "Special car" scheduled on the 23rd & 24th, if I can get it done I am coming to the event @ 3D as I would like to see the stuff in action as I am always looking to use "Whatever" works, also heard there will be some other top guys there in addition to you Dave and Barry/Thomas that are there in So.Cal.

I feel like the kid that didn't get the invite to the party! I know, just get a plane ticket and c'mon down. Lord, I wish I could! But, ya'll have agood time and I can't wait for the write ups afterwards.

I am lucky I have lived in Santa Clarita for 25 years. Looking forward to learning from the masters.:pray2:

So, since I seem to have missed the boat with uno and poxy - is there a way to order this in larger quantities than 16oz? I only ask because I am in Canada, and if I am going to order something from the US I order large.

I'd like to order that, but the checkout system for that site is crazy. It wants my SSN and Tax Number? Huh? It doesn't ask for an address? Weird.

Same thing happened to me thats why I called and ordered. They were really nice. Do youselft a favor and order, both products are awesome. I thought the Poxy was awesome ,then i tried the Uno and its even better than I expected. If the new sealant is better I can't wait to order !

Ya, I guess I will give them a ring tomorrow. I'd like to try them both, everyone seem to love them. Definitely a wacky online ordering system though. :D

Is this Nitro Seal supposed to replace Poxy?

Hi Autopians,

I would like to clear-up something...HD Nitro System is actually 2 part system that has the Part A which will be called "HD NIRO SEAL" and Part B which will be called "HD NITRO BOND".

Part A is a clear sealant and Part B is a creamy Bonding product.

Found this on the info of the upcoming Autopia event: - New Pad System and Nitro Seal (Paste wax) Featured by 3D Products

HD Nitro Sytem will be shown at the seminar 25th of June in our factory (3D Santa Clarita CA). Pad system will be awailable for sale at the seminar.

Nitro System will be for sale 15th July.

Bit confused? It's a sealant, which contains no actual wax and I've never heard of a paste sealant... Would be nice for some quick clarification. I'm guessing it's coming out around the 25th though since that's when the event is.

The sealant is clear liquid and is the part we call PART A. But we have also a creamy PART B which will bond to part A to create a longer lasting surface.

Big Fan of the poxy... can't wait to try the new stuff. Can orders be placed ahead of time?

Yes at the seminar.

In terms of durability, how is it compared to the Zaino's?

We did not compare. However I have used all my tricks...and can say that it is the best product I made in 25 years.

Thanks David. I think from the banner I read during the seminar is when more info will be available on the products

At the seminar we will have simple instructions. Our motto at 3D Products has always been "Detailing Made Simple". Therefore we have came up with these unique products to make detailers life easier.

We thank everyone that has made us better with their comments,

see you all at the Seminar....

Thanks for all the info Tunch! So the part B is a wax somewhat? What would it be classified as, and David did you use the full 2 part system or just the sealant? Also, last question I promise :) Just wondering about the price. Thanks!

Interesting sounding system....

If part A is a "liquid" does that mean it applies similar to something like Optimum Opti-Seal?

Hey Picus,

The site did have a field for tax ID number as the site used to accept resell # to not charge tax. It was an option field though. We have gone ahead and remove it though as it not used much.

Once you fill out the basic info such as user name, password, etc, and click submit, it will then asks for your address.

What are the primary differences between the Nitro Seal and the HD Uno and Poxy?

All three products are paint sealants, correct?
