My new DBA

So I am expanding my company(more to come later) and I wanted a new company name, but kept my legal name. Not because I am hiding from anything but rather, thinking back, I am not crazy about my legal name as my advertised name.



After debating it over I went with Detailed Designs (with "Auto Spa" possibly).



What do you guys think?
 
so wait how did you go about keeping your legal name? Did you obtain a new business license or how did you go about creating a new name and stuff?



I have thought about doing this as i'm not really happy with my name LoL. I feel it's very novice like.

Call your permits and licenses department and ask them how to create a DBA. I am not sure if how I do it would be the same for you.
 
so in your case it would be something like: Executive Detail DBA Jean Claude just as a example?



So in that case what name do you use when you are advertising and what not LoL
 
Ede, llc. Is my legal name. Meaning that my bank account, biz cc, tax I.d. Are tied to that name. I will advertise/do biz as detailed designs but be able to deposit into my ede,llc. Accounts and use that fid.

thanks for the info. Running a business can sure get a little confusing rather quickly. There are just so many ways to do things it's crazy.



So what's the benefit to that?

LOL! Yeah that's a good one. I need to go and figure all that stuff out. Right now i believe i'm already listed as a dba just need to figure out how i can change it so i can do business with a new name yet still retain the old info as well.
