My new Brinkmann....well

Besides the obvious carnauba vs. no carnauba, is there a big difference between these two types of products and their uses? Basically the same thing? What do you guys think?

The carnabua and no carnauba factor is the MAIN difference. I've found that both work decent on windows and buff out evenly for the most part. Obvioulsy the one with carnauba is more desirable for waxes that have carnauba in them. Thus, the quick detailer with carnauba will look nicer than the one's without and will of course rejuvenate the carnauba wax that you have on your car. Then there's the Final Inspection. It has much more lubrication, in my opinion that the quick detailers with carnauba. This is why it is my favorite product to help remove bug debris and bird droppings, etc... I just get the feel that it is more effective for this task and thus a bit safer. If you don't have some FI, then you should consider getting some. $20 or so for a gallon at carcareonline. And then, there's the factor of using a non-carnauba product for buffing out SG but you already know that. Laters.

My friend has Meguiar's Quick Wax, and if my memory serves me right it says on the bottle to be sure not to get it on glass (or plastic?) as it might stain.

As for lubercation properties, in not really sure about this one, I personally would be hesitant to use this on a car that is dusty, I think it was meant for the guy who wants to wax his car without really waxing his car.

I am a big fan of cooking and eating BBQ and I have been wanting a smoker for awhile now. I was at the Depot today and found this open box special. Retail $70 marked down to $50 so I said want the heck. I think that I am going to try out smoking a brisket this weekend to try it out.

NICE!!

I did quite a bit of smoking this season... My favorites were baby backs with a dry rub and we had some salmon that we brought back from a fishing trip... THE BOMB!

I prefer a non gas smoker ... purist... Glad to see you are of like mind

Looks like a great buy. I have a Weber smoker myself, just smoked a couple of pork butts to take to a detailing class a couple of weeks ago. Just get a remote thermometer and you will be all set.

I had one of these Brinkmans and loved it except for the difficulty I had keeping a consistent low temperature with charcoal for slow smoking (like a brisket or a turkey).

When it was time to replace I got another Brinkman but got the propane model. I know the purists out there will sneer but I tell you it is really easy to get 8-10 hours of nice cool smoke going at a consistent temp and by using wood chips I still get plenty of smoke flavor.

Either way you go its mighty good eats!

I have a similar smoker, but eventually switched to smoking in a big Weber. One of these days, I'm going to build a smoker to spec.

And did you take pictures of your new smoker's maiden voyage and the rewards of that voyage?

For example.....

(I'm really sorry to do this to you guys...:drool5:)
