2006 Pontiac G6 GT: Daily Driver/Winter Beater



I picked up this 2006 G6 GT for my winter beater. Its in great shape, with 30,000km on it. I wanted to give it some protection and a clean up before I install the clear bra and side wheel arch protectant film. (highway car). The colour is Sunburnt Orange, and it seems to change to green in the night, under street lights.



Process:

Power Cut Plus x2 @ 1500 RPM (2 hard passes, 2 lite passes)

GS1 x1 @2000 Rpm (2 hard passes, 2 lite passes)

Collonite x3

Rims: AC DELCO glass cleaner, and megs cleaner wax.

Trim: Tuxedo

Sadly, yes, it only has the 3.5L in it. I'm not complaining though, now that I've got my tire pressures at the happy medium (34psi seems to net me 2 mpg more than 32, or 35, all averaged over 2 weeks of consistant weather), it gets great gas mileage, into the 35 mpg range. Just hit my empty tank light, and I have recorded nearly 800 km on the tank in mixed driving. Not too shabby for a 60 liter tank.



Just wait till you all see my new summer toy. She doesn't get such good gas mileage, and she used to be down south with you guys.

If I only drive it in the winter, then I'd assume it is a winter beater is it not? I'm not loaded by any means, I just work for an auction company, and dealership. If your economy wasn't down the toilet, I wouldn't be driving it.

That's a pretty ignorant comment. The market just topped over 14,000 points last month, we're doing horrible. Our dollar being low isn't always a bad thing, genius. It brings a lot of business into the US from other countries, and helps our economy flourish.
 
Wow, lighten up, guys! Like the man says, if it's what he's going to drive every day in the winter, and he has a summer toy, then by definition it's his DD/winter beater. I'll + that it's a pretty nice beater.
 
It's not a good thing if you go to Europe. When I was in Paris in September (I took my wife there for the 29th anniversary of her 21st birthday), the dollar was worth .65 against the Euro.



The market topped 14K, and Wall Street is talking recession. The housing market in the Northeast is in the tank.. yeah, we are doing great... :wall
 
no comment to that, talking negative about USA. forget it man, i dont want to associate with you. i didn't insult your country, you shouldn't have insulted mine.
 
I don't think he is insulting the USA, he is just telling the truth and the truth hurts sometimes.Then again this wouldn't be Autopia if somebody didn't get bent out of shape over a comment.:argue

I was going to question the orange-green flop at first, but damn...that pic at night is nuts.
 
Sheesh, lighten up guys! If the man says it is his winter daily driver/beater, and he has a summer toy, then it is by definition his winter beater, no matter how nice. I don't know how this thread went down the dumper so fast without even one mention of NXT or Zaino...

It was a pretty general statement, I don't see how it was that insulting either. To me what he said was your dollar lower than ours = him picking up the car cheaper, is that hard to swallow :nixweiss ? :chill:
 
I wasn't at all insulting the US... :S Its just simple fact that our dollar is worth more than the US' right now, so many canadians are taking advantage of the fact. Again, I wasn't insulting you at all, or at least those weren't my intentions.
