My Method for Drying a Black Car

Thanks for taking the time to share your drying method. I was going to buy the 8 hp MasterBlaster but I'm not sure I want to spend the money. I suspect I will break down and get one but for now I'm thinking of Chemical Guys Woolly Mammoth drying towels. Big and fluffy.

I like the idea of patting down or blot drying the surface vs. running the towel across the paint. Sure makes great sense! And after I'm done with the drying maybe I'll use BF Waterless Wash before moving on to the next steps.

Another awesome thread for people with black vehicles... Your advise has been so useful and really helped avoid so much of the hair pulling associated with working on black vehicles and especially the work I've been doing on my ZO6... Thank you so much!!!
 
I have the master blaster and love it but I find that when I dry it, it leaves tiny water spots. Do you go afterwards with a towel to pick up the water spots? Thank you.

You can spend a lot of time herding the water off the paint with the MB but at some point you just need to use a towel for specific spots.

It is usually water in trim that gets blown out that causes the random drops of water on paint for me. I try to get the water off the tires and from trim first then finish the paint.
 
I have the 8hp master blaster and it is all you need after flood rinsing. Once is blow the water off you may need to blot some random drops but I rarely touch my paint and more when drying.

The CR spotless will be installed before next season.
