My Klasse review

freedre - if it took you three hours to get AIO off, then you applied WAY too much, some other anomaly has occured or you are doing something drastically wrong. AIO is super easy to use and give great results ( cleaned and prepped base for any topper you like, be it sealant or wax ). SG I agree *can* be a little finicky, but look up BillNorth for the wipe on wipe off method, its as simple a method for using Klasse as I have found. And what prep are you doing prior to the application of Klasse?

Thanks for the input '6cyl's..'. I think I figured out the quantity issue, particularly on the SG. Two things about your response tho: I thought that AIO was a 'prep and cleaner??' - is this not correct? 'Cause that's what I was using it for ("All in One" - right??) Also, I was putting it on with my PC set at 4.5. Is there some way of controlling the amount you put on with the PC? Or is it a case of smearing it around until it is really thin.

Sorry again for the stupid questions.

freedre- Welcome to Autopia.

I'm not sure why you would've had so much trouble with the AIO  Could your hood have been hot? I apply it by PC/Cyclo all the time, no trouble. Maybe try *not* working it so long, wiping it off while it's still a little wet. It'll haze/dry as you're wiping it off anyhow. And yeah, you use both K products with thin coats. Excess product is just wasted anyhow. And a little QD can make removal much easier if it's needed.

*I* think of AIO as more of a "cleaner" and not really a "prep" product, if you get the difference.

When applying by PC, watch that you don't get your pad too saturated. Scrape it with a plastic picnic knife to get the excess off. Besides that, yeah, distribute the product by moving the PC around, but you can only do this to a certain extent. Don't try to work too big an area at a time until you get the hang of it.

I struggled with Klasse for a year. ALways had trouble removing it. For one thing I was applying too much, but that was not the whole problem because even with little amounts I still had trouble getting it off. ...but I was only putting on one layer of SG and then re-prepping after a few months before the next application. When I started using multiple layers I noticed it would come off easier and easier. The first layer was a b!tch, but then the 2nd and 3rd came off as easily as P21S. I assumed it had to do with the product bonding to the paint, and hence being difficult to remove was probably a good thing in the big scheme...even if it required a little extra elbow grease up front.

Thanks for the tip. I get the feeling that this is the case (i.e. 'quanitity, follow-up and prepping') with Klasse. I was looking at my paint this AM (what I could see under the snow) and I have to admit, it looks pretty good (with one coat of SG). Been thinking that I might stick with something a bit simpler until I get some experience and get my act together.

Thanks again.
