Beautiful work! I think pictures of anything that can be detailed are always welcomed here at TID. Stunning first post my man!!! :notworthy:

Wait till TL sees THIS!

Thats beautiful JGraham :notworthy:

Your floor is awesome looking also :wink:

Hey, wait a minute....Is that a Tennessee license plate I see in that awesome reflection shot :spy:

Stunning! :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

How do you keep the chrome shining in all those hard to reach places?

What kind of jack/bike stand is that under the bike?

Nice work! :thumbup:

Geez, I'm jealous! I just wish I could get my bike down the street...another 10 inches of snow here in northern AZ! That's 143 inches this winter so far!:banghead:
My vehicles look like crap!!:cursing:

Your pics are motivating me to start spring buffing on the Road King!:)

:drool5:That bike looks killah!!:thumbup::thumbup:

Next time I'm down in the 'Boro, I'll make sure I've got my sunglasses on in case you're out for a ride... I don't want to go blind!;)

Great work, beautiful Harley.:smile:

I love your Street Glide. If i was in the market for a new bike, that'd be it!

It came out great!! No worry about posting bike pics here. If you look back into last year I posted pics of my bike here as well. I'm sure it'll be getting it's spring cleanup soon and I'll repost some pics then.

Jason, your Harley is gorgeous! :thumbup: Welcome to TID! We need more bike details in this community. Visit often and maybe you can get some of our other bikers to post their bikes as well. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I live in Murfreesboro TN.

Yes, we should start a TN Chapter of TID :wizard:

Dood, it looks like you even detailed your jack stand! Beautiful bike, now go ride...

Uhh, Puckman you owe me a new keyboard. I just spewed milk all over mine :o

JG...I wanna see a write-up on that wrangler. I had a triple black 87 model back in the day....one of my favorite cars/trucks I've ever owned :partaaay:

X2 on the wrangler! If you've got a hardtop on it I'd like to here how you take care of it. I've used the Blackfire products and haven't been happy so far. Just can't get that thinly painted textured top to look that great.:(

I recently used Black Again on a super faded (it looked gray) Wrangler hardtop with amazing results. Also works pretty good on the flares.... check out the pic in this thread:

Anyone that gets that type of result on Harley's Vivid Black earns my undying admiration. :thumbup: Of the 8 H-Ds I've owned the last 3 have been black... I've yet to achieve that kind of result without induced marring on the softest, most miserable clearcoat I've ever worked on. :banghead: None of the colors or metallics ever posed any type of frustrations.

A few quizzicals:

Did you think the rear fender really required wet sanding or was it something you just wanted to do? I would've thought 203 would have cleaned that right up.

I'm also curious about the use of 203 with a gold pad as a final polishing step. What was your thinking about that? I would've thought 85rd with red would've given you LSP-ready perfection. Speaking of which, did you top off with a sealant or wax?

Thus far I've achieved the best result with M105. Can't seem to get 205 to finish without micromarring regardless of what pad I use. Curiously, M105 seems to finish better with orange than anything I try with M205. My next effort is going to involve doing one side of the tank with Ultrafina and the other with 85RD and see what I get. Still, I get minor marks on a freshly polished surface using the plushest Cobras I have with Final Inspection or any other detailer or wipe off product. :banghead: Add in washing off bugs and grit on a Tourer that sees 20 - 30k/year and I probably oughta just give up and spray it with rattlecan bedliner. :eek:

Izzat SG a '06?

Wet Sanding

Yes, I did only due to double seat I use when my wife rides had marked the rear fender up pretty bad from the pressure of the seat being against the fender when someone sits on the seat. 203 may have worked but it wasn't much work to wet sand with a 3 inch Dynabrade and just buff it back out. The rear fender was the real reason I even detailed the bike, and it came out better than I expected.

You know I just looked and realized the Power finish has a deeper cut than the 85rd ,but I did notice it created dust when I was in the final step. I told a friend of mine I thought it was very odd but with the words power finish I assumed it was for the final polish. This was my first time with Menzerna products. I've been using 3M products before so I'm more familiar with them. I did notice Ultrafina and the 85rd was very similar. It seems to me the Ultrafina slings a little more than Menz did but neither creates a big mess.

I just ordered some M105 and M205 today but have never used it before. I'll let you know what I think. It seems everyone here is using over the 3M products.

Wrangler

The Wrangler, funny you asked. It is my next project. i bought this Jeep on Halloween night 2005. It's a 2004 model and it had 2600 miles on when i bought it off Ebay. Jeep was in near perfect condition besides the hood and front fenders has some deep pitting on them. I'm not sure if it was acid rain or what it was. The light color hides it well until under the flourescent lights. I plan on using the M105 and M205 when it arrives to tackle the project.

One asked about the hardtop. It does have a hard top and it's only used in the winter and this winter I didn't even put it on. This Jeep now has 15,000 miles on 5 years later and has never been in the rain. It just sits in my garage with the top off for an occasional ride to the lake or around town on a sunny day. The underneath looks just like a new jeep would at a dealership. There's not much to detail on this one.
