*MY* first paid detail

Bucky, in Grand Rapids a good place for detail supplies? HAHAHAHAHA yea right :D, Im 10 minutes North of you in Belmont BTW.

WHC- Nice job on the detail! Looks great! Hope it works out with the referals :up

Great job, wifehatescar! I don't know how most of the guys on this forum work so fast either. Most of my jobs have taken me 4-6 hours and that's with the paint in pretty good condition already (although some interiors have been pretty crappy.)

And greetings from Ann Arbor! Didn't realize you were so close being in Belleville.

Hope the referals start pouring in. :D

Yeah, there's alot of MI peeps in here :) I didn't even get all the swirls out but the customer does not even know what a swirl mark is so........ :D

I did get out about 20 scratches though, that made the most improvement in the look. When I started the paint felt like sandpaper.

Schweet!!! Looking good steve

as far as time goes for a full detail with SSR2, SSR1 or PP, then sealing it off, 8 hrs isnt all too bad for just getting a system down. I usually take 4.5 - 6.5 hrs for a full detail depending how many polishing steps I perform. For a job similar to your I would have spent about 5.5 - 6 hrs (with an engine detail)

The biggest problem was there was mud on the tires and wheelwells and I was using QEW. Have just not found a good way to deal with muddy tires and QEW since there is no hose to rinse the dirt away. It took 3 buckets of rinse water to rinse away all the mud. I even took the car to a $1 pressure wash before I started :(

Don't know how Scottwax does it, I still like traditional washes better than QEW whenever possible.

Nice job! Man I didnt realize how many of us there were here from MI. We all need to detailing get together or something.

No kidding. The only products I have been able to find were S100 and SEC from the Harley dealer on 28th street. There's nothing I love more than paying shipping charges. :(

Reguarding the question about topping EX-P with Natty...I've found that topping EX-P with Natty or S100 makes a huge difference. Honestly, I liked the looks of EX-P, but love it when it's topped with Natty. Natty seems to really give the car a "liquid" look to it.
