My First NXT Impressions

Bret-this is straight off the back of the NXT box:

Our new ESP (Engineered Synthetic Polymers) technology creates a tough polymer bond to your paint so it can provide extreme protection. And that also mean extreme beading action. This is now the longest lasting car wax we make.

How they determined this, I don't know.

I cannot see how someone can make a determination on durability on NXT when you JUST got the product 2 days ago for a true durability test one must remove what one has on vehicle FIRST then put the PRODUCT that is being tested. Plain and simple also this NOT A PROFESSIONAL PRODUCT that's a year away. Some of you that have these new vehicle this a product you want to test truly for your vehicle and 2 to 3 months down the road give an HONEST opinion THAT'S ALL I'M ASKING THANK YOU

Read my review. I tested in on 2 vehicles that have not been polished/sealed since August. The Oddessy will be a good test since it is my brother's van and I am out at his house a couple times a month. He just runs it through the local touchless car wash. He and his wife have a new baby (5 months old) so he does not have time to do anything more to it. The van is garaged at night but is parked outside in the daytime. Should be a good test.

Klasse, Zaino, Clearkote, Poorboys, UPP et al are not professional level products either but a lot of us have had great results using them...including those of us who detail for a living.

Right now, you are only getting initial impressions. Durability results are a few months away.

Thank you. :up

I'm looking forward to using NXT soon.

I ordered two bottles (and more stuff) of the NXT on Mike's free shipping offer. Anybody wanna buy the second bottle?

No reason for this product in my inventory.

 Any reason in particular?

NXT 'wax' seems to be fine. Goes on and off fine/easy.

I've seen it on 5 cars now. Oh, it is a fine product.

But so is #20, #26, Klasse AIO, etc.

It just hasn't 'earned' a place in my already swollen inventory.

I'll be looking for durability comments...

I'm sure it will be successful in the marketplace...

SKIP THIS if you don't like long stories...

Today (Sunday) I did the exterior only of an '89 Mustang POS. Body shop had done an excellent (baked) job of repainting the front 1/2 of the white car due to an accident. The roof, trunk, bumper, and rear 1/4 panels had been previously repainted by Maaco!

My challenge was to make the back look like the freshly painted front. So, DACP, rotary, wool pad. Automagic's GS-1 (similar to machine glazes), PC, white foam pad. Finish is looking pretty good now.

I applied Klasse AIO, then Klasse Sealant Glaze on 1/2 of the car. I applied Meg's NXT to the other half.

Quite difficult to discern a difference, but perhaps the edge went to Klasse.

The NXT was, of course, only 1 step, while the Klasse Twins required more work. On this job, I could've gotten away with just AIO.

I'd show pics, but its a white car...

So, Its not a slam on NXT by any means, it just doesn't beat out some very established products.

When available at retail, I'll certainly recommend it to clients.

I repeat: I'll be looking for durability comments...

I get to try NXT today. Prepped hood with IHG by PC and wiped down with Final Inspection yesterday before the games. This really added some jetting to the black paint that I hope will be locked-in and enhanced with the NXT. (Hood previously (vehicle has been in hibernation since Oct.) prepped with 3M LC , DACP, Menzerna IP and FP Zaino x5 (Z5x2 and Z2 x3) EX x2 and UPP x2). Not sure if there's any room for improvement but even the slightest the enhancement at this level will be welcomed. :D

PATS and Panthers victories and NXT in the last 24hrs maybe too much for this old man to handle. ;)

It's good for regular consumer use, but for people like us who are high critical and detail oriented it's okay. My parents would like NXT, for me I will stick with my P21S and Klasse products. JMHO.

Thing for me is that I have been using Klasse for a year now ever since I bought my new car and I still have trouble applying it. It either takes a lot of elbow grease to remove it all or you have to wax over it. Otherwise it always leaves a film for me. Sometimes the discussions here remind me of the discussions on audiophile sites where guys are arguing about which $1000 speaker has a slightly better timber. I bet if I took two identical cars and applied AIO/S100 to one and NXT to another no one here would be able to tell the difference.

I'm going to use the NXT for my next job and if it is easier to apply I think I might switch and leave the Klasse stuff on the shelf...consumer-grade or not.

"Do any of us wax less than once a month?"

I'm not really sure how somebody who runs an auto detail forum could make a comment like that. Durability is clearly a major concern for just about everybody here.

this product will either prosper or flop on Autopia based on how durable it is. We already have many waxes that look great, S100, Souveran, etc. Now we want Souveran looks with #26 durability. Dunno if that is possible!
