My First Flash Video

a.k.a. Troy@DetailCity
OK so I'm not the most technologically up to date amatuer web designer but I just made my first Flash movie.

Armstrong Detailing - The Finest Mobile Auto Detailing in Sarasota - Bradenton - Venice

***edit. Changed the above link to the actual home page.***

This isn't the live home page. Just a sample of what I want to do. I think it's a nice intro and gets the customer excited about my service. The original video from my camera made the car look super wet. This video is compressed so it takes away quite a bit from how good the car actually looks. The finished product should look much better. I want to create it with something better than Windows Movie Maker.

I've been using Final Cut Studio on the Mac at church and it blows Windows Movie Maker away. Anybody know of a good movie maker for windows?

Re: My First Flash

I'm relived that the title wasn't what I was thinking:D

Looks good Troy brings the cars to life.

I saw some guy on Craigslist selling his car with a vid instead of just pics.

Nice Work!:D

Re: My First Flash

Nice Troy. :bigups Just curious, when you use music on your website, do you have to pay any ASCAP related fees?

Roxio. I've not used the product before, so I don't know if it will do what you want.

Probably. I haven't checked into obtaining rights to playing that music. If they want to come after me, so be it.

Re: My First Flash

Nice looking website :inspector:

Very clean and without alot of clutter and confusion :bigups

Re: My First Flash

Still looks good.

You know though now that I looked at it again, I had a thought. :D

It might improve the overall look if you would have wet down the entire driveway area for consistency plus the darkened brick might also help to accentuate that particular paint color.

This was really just meant to be a practice video. It turned out well enough that I decided to use it. I have a nice paint correction detail coming up soon for a friend. I plan to take a ton of pics and video on that one. It's a volvo not a ferrari but it still should be good. :D

On your tags in your youtube account you should include the city,s you service as well auto detailing. It will show up on google. Mabe on the first page depending on the amount of other detailers you are competing with.

Thank you for that. I had the tags on there but I redid the video so many times I must have forgot to add them the last time. :bigups

Nice video Troy, cool music, (I'm a APP fan)

That looked like about a 1967 or 68 Dino GT?

I did a complete wet-sand, cut and buff on a red one that looks just like that, the one I worked on was a 1976. I have the pictures somewhere and in one of them you can see the floor is completely read all the way around the car from all the read paint that came off during the sanding and compounding process. Kind of a cool shot and I'm sure you guys that have buffed out single stage paint cars know what I'm talking about, that is the outline you leave around the car in the color of the car, (and the polish residue that lands on the floor)

:)

That song always reminds me of the Bulls when Jordan played. (Back when basketball was fun to watch)

That sounds right. He told me the year when I first did the car but I can't remember.

This car was repainted with clearcoat. I sanded the whole rear half of the car when I first detailed it. Whoever painted it left a lot of paint correction for me but only the back half was bad enough for sanding.

I lost a lot of my before and after pictures because I didn't back them up and my computer crashed. I had some good ones of this car too. :wall

This car is going in the annual Ferrari show this weekend on St. Armands Circle here in Sarasota. (Fourth year I have done it for the show)

Nice job, Troy!

Hey, this is from a guy who can't even spell HTML, but here are a few observations...

- My PC is usually pretty quick, but I had delays during your video... called caching? I have no idea if that is within your control.

- When I try to zoom in on the two Dino pics, the video window blocks the view. Couldn't figure out how to minimize or move the video.

I love the site! Hope this helps.

Jay
