Well As I posted, last week I broke down and bought a PC at lowes and on Monday I orderd pads and SMR from CMA.
I started on the Saturn to learn how to use the PC and SMR, The Satty had been clayed last fall and also had about 6 coats of Zaino....
I started on the driverside of the hood, about 1/4 at a time, I had the garage door closed at first then the sun came out and I opend it to see the swirls better, after the first application I wasnt that impressed
So I went over to the laptop and did a search here and looked at some of the posts about SMR that others had posted problems with.....
I was useing the PC on speed 2-3 and I read on here in a post that some one had used it on speed 4-5..... so I went back and tried again with speed on bout 4 1/2
Well with the speed higher with the yellow pad I went over the hood again, now I could see a big diff! I was verrry pleased! I went over it a little more and almost all of them were gone...:up
Next I used the Air Compresser to blow off the little dust from the SMR, the sprayed the hood with Z6 and wiped it off
Man did it look good!!! I was more than happy...
Next I got out my new foam pads to add ZFX by hand, I put a coat on, and went around and started on the rear bumper. There was a spot on the rear where someone had hit the car in a parkinglot and left a few scratches
I tried the SMR on them, after a few apps they were looking a ton better but still there, I didnt expect them to be totaly gone, they are too deep..
Now I went back and wiped off the ZFX from the hood
It was like a new paint job, so smooth and Swirl free, I went ahead and did 2 more coats of ZFX to the hood and 3 too the rear bumper..... I ran out of time to do the whole car so, I just Z6'ed the rest and we had to go out with friends.
I am verry happy with the PC and the SMR! I just feel a little dumb that I didnt try them both earlier.........both were worth more than there cost...........!
