My day-job has done marketing work for Flex in the past, so I figured to go to them for my detailing needs. I also got a bunch of freebie pads.....just got to pick up some polishes now. Anyone have suggestions with what works best?

The pads that came with it are

yellow

black

white

and a wool bonnet (which i just don't get these, b/c they look like they could really damage the paint??)

wool pads are for serious defects. As for polishes there are just way to many.

I use Menzerna and a lot of others do as well. Meguiars 105 and Meguiars 205 are good as well.

Depending on your needs though is what will point you in any given direction.

I think anyone would be happy with either the Menzerna polishes or M105/205. Or if you're really antsy, you can go out to walmart and pick up Meg's Ultimate COmpound and SwirlX, which work very well as well.

i'm actually between Adam's and Pinnacle right now...Adam's seems to support the Flex line up on their site so i'm kinda leaning toward them.

IMO, M105/205 are user friendly. I had no issues the first time I picked them up. I used them with the flex and LC pads.

The LQ9 is basically a high compression version of the 6.0L V8 they put in some of the bigger vans and trucks. It's not quite an LS series engine, but it's similar.

oh, i'm aware of that-i was just hoping he had modded it, since I saw the SS in his avatar. I know a guy who took an LQ9 block and stroked it out to 500+hp on his 99 trans am. it's a sick *** car!
