I finaly got the chance to try it out.

Test mule: My 96 GMC Z71

Panel i chose was the driver side door.

I taped off half the door with painters tape for a 'before and after' affect, it didnt turn out the way i wanted it to but you get the idea.

Process and products:

Wash with NXT soap

Clayed with Clay Magic from autozone

Meguires #83 DACP (X2), applied with PC and heavy cutting pad (orange sonus pad) starting at speed 3 and gradually bumped it up to speed 6.

Sonus SFX-2 (X2), applied with PC and medium cutting pad (green sonus pad) starting at speed 3 and gradually bumped it up to speed 6.

Meguires #82 (X2), applied with light cutting pad (blue sonus pad) starting at speed 3 and gradually bumped it up to speed 6.

Meguires #7, applied by hand removed by hand.

S100 paste wax, applied by hand removed by hand.

I didnt like the sonus SFX-2, Did a great job of clearing all the haze from megs #83 but the working time is real short making it hard to use.

Its not perfect but it was my first time and still trying to figure out my technique using this buffer and these polishes.

Maybe i did something wrong then. It seemed to dry quickly and start to flake no matter how much product i used.

Oh and another thing. People make a big deal out of how hard DACP and #7 is to use and i had no trouble at all, there wasnt really a learning curve with either one of them like everyone says.

Thats all i have for pics. Sorry, i was hoping the pic would have come out better, im working on getting better at taking pics of these types of things. So easy to see with the naked eye but to get it on film is tough.

I did search on priming the pad with QD but it was hard to find any threads on it. Is priming the pad really something you all do?

Nice job but I politely disagree about DACP. In my experience it is one of the toughest polishes to work with and won't easily do sunlight like a good SSR polish.

Do you have pics of the whole vehicle?

Agreed. DACP has always been an absolute breeze for me to use-never gums up, wipes off easily, every bit as easy as Optimum's Compound, although DACP does dust and OC doesn't. Even works decently in the heat (#80 doesn't at all though).

Looks like you are off to an excellent start. :)

lets do apples to apples here!!

DACP gums like crazy with a rotary ... but doesnt with the PC....in my experience.

Coupe,, i dont agree with your negative self critique....I think thats exactly what a "taped off" section should look like and shows a great comparison between the two sections! in other words :bigups

I've had mixed experiences with DACP- sometimes it works great, sometimes it is a complete pain in the a**. I think it helps to have a very clean pad and not be in the sun. I used it for a bit, then went to Optimum Compound, and haven't turned back.

:goodjob looks like you got 99.9% of the swirls out. now for the rest of the vehicle... :waxing: :2thumbs:

p.s. please post pics when done! :bigups

Thanks for all the support. I try to get pics that are as nice as the ones you guys post, im getting there!!!

Maybe thats why people have trouble with DACP, using it in the sun and/or using a rotary. I was totaly prepared to spend a few hours learning how to use it but 10 minutes into it im like 'how come they make it seem so hard to use lol".

I LOVE my PC, SOOOOOOOOOO much better than the piece of junk orbital i was using lol

I dont have pics of the whole truck, well i do but they arent worth posting. My truck is really just my beater and it sees more mud and sand and 2 tracks than pavement. So im trying to decide if i really want to fully detail it. My car on the other hand is getting a full detail this weekend!!

This is what it looks like now.
