My Family Thinks I'm Nuts!

Not a professional here... just a simple TDI driver who used to lurk on TID and is obsessed with keeping it nice and shiney. I learned a ton while lurking on TID. Use Klasse AIO with Black Fire Midnight Sun on top. I just put a third coat of the BFMS on her this past weekend (one coat a week for the past three weeks over the original coat of Klasse AIO) and it has really built up a beautiful depth. Learned about that process on TID and bought the kit. So easy, fast, and gorgeous results. Have learned a ton there and here! So glad you've all done the hard part of learning by trial and error and made it easy for us newbs!

My family thinks I've gone off the deep end with the amount of attention to this car... but I figure it's a lot easier to keep up with the maintenance of the paint than have to repair neglected paint in the future!

Welcome to AF. Our families all think we are crazy for one reason or another :)

Oh yeah. I forgot to note. My entire family thinks I'm nuts too. My dad constantly is yelling at me not to buy anymore. I just can't help it. He also tells me that my car is TOO clean.

I guess I fit in that category too. Spent 5 hours on my car last Saturday and my family said, "It didn't need it". Well maybe I did. It's Zen time for me.

Welcome to the forum. I also love the AIO topped with Blackfire.

I agree. Detailing is a peaceful-relaxing time to get away from people.

My wife tells others that the only bad habit I have always produces good results. She's referring to the detailed cleanliness of our cars.

I'd rather be making improvements in the cars than sitting around the TV, the bar scene or just being lazy.

:welcome:

Welcome to autopiaFORUMS! It's great to have you here! My family also thinks I'm nuts, but car detailing is a rather relaxing passion and there are PLENTY of things that are FAR worse for you. Thanks for joining and please let myself or any moderator know if there is anything I we can do for you!

Amen to that!! Sure to the rest of the world,we're a little eccentric about our rides, but an immaculately clean and shiny vehicle isn't a dime a dozen and everyone I've spoken to about mine want theirs to be just like it. You're in good company here. Welcome!

:welcome: To Autopia Forum!

We are a different bread of car enthusiast often questioned whether or not we're in possession of our faculties. You have found a place where obsession is commonplace and lack of care is a rarity...

While they may think you're overdoing it just a bit I suspect they look at the finished product with envy....:bigups
