I washed it and used some gold class the other night. It turned out ok but I am looking for opinions on some products to make it look even better. here are some pics.

Is that single stage paint? I've heard of Mitso using SS on even their newer models.

If it is, it needs a good semi-abrasive paint cleaner, followed by something like Meguiar's #7, and THEN wax it.

Looks good, but seems to be lacking some depth. Did you clay before you waxed? Maybe add another coat of wax. I personally dont love Gold Class, but some folks here swear by it. Looks like single stage paint.

I don't know if it is single stage, how would I find out? What would be a really good paint cleaner to use. I was thinking about using a sonus clay bar then some klasse sealant. Can you layer the klasse? What wax would you recommend for use on top of it. I want to make it look at good as my talon does.

The finish on base coat clear coat paint jobs visually have more depth because the paint is literally behind the clear.

Yes you can layer Klasse HGSG. You could try using Klasse AIO and then a couple of layers of HGSG then P21S concours wax for some wetness and depth.

You will always have a depth issue with single stage paint, IMO.

Call the Mitsubishi dealership and ask. Give them your paint code and make and model and they could tell you.

Ok I will look into it. Any other products you think might be better for me? Also I was thinking of souveran for my talon.

Yes, Souveran is very nice on black, but it is fairly expensive and seems to be a kind of "warm" look. I personally prefer a "wet" look.

Ok. Now does this sound like the right combination. Clay bar, Klasse AIO,Klasse HGSG, P21S. I still need a cleaner so I guess I will look for that next.

I used to have an 05 Evo... now I have an 08 Evo

03 and 04 Evo solid colors (not silver) were single stage paint. 05+ all have multi-stage paints.

All you have to do to find out if it's single stage is apply a bit of abrasive polish to the car. If the color of the car shows up on the towel/pad, it's single stage paint. If the color doesn't show up, it's clearcoated.

Yellow is not a single stage on the Evo's. I detailed my friends and no paint came off. I think only the rally red Evo's (VIII's and IX's) are single stage.

Great looking car. I've got an Apex Silver VIII same year.

Very nice talon! I have a 91 but it needs a little work. Souveran would look good on that but if you are thinking about buying some I think autogeek has a good sale on it usually around christmas. I picked some up recently when they had a 2 for 1 sale.

This is exactly what I used on my '08 graphite Volvo. Looks nice. Do at least 2 layers of SG, 24 hours minimum apart. After your first pass of AIO evaluate the paint, 2 passes sometimes is needed. Go slow, and use little. Even less with the SG.
