My dog vs. his collar

This is what happens when your mom buys a collar for your puppy and its a little too big. Capone woke us up the other night furiously thrashing in bed and I awoke to this:

Naturally I had to find the camera first to snap a picture before he almost choked to death.

Dachshund I believe.
Correct, a miniature short hair and he was the runt of the litter. He is tiny and thats what we wanted. At 7 months he is fully grown and weighs 6 pounds 10 ounces.

Here he is battling it out with our 60 pound lab to the death!!

Very cute pup but please... next time don't let the dog suffer while you go looking for a camera! Also, I always remove the collars off the dogs at night for this very reason. They also sometimes manage to get a paw caught in the collar in their sleep.

WilliamHBonney- AH, yeah, that's what I expected!

DFTowel- Yeah, for a long time we took all the collars off when the dogs were at home, our one house had things they'd snag them on.

Yeah I wouldnt normally do that but this one was just priceless. Someone on Off Topic photochopped a ball in his mouth so it looks like a bondage thing lol.

I dont like to take the collars off because the two times that I did that I forgot to put them back on and both times our lab wandered off.

Yeah, we're the same way with the dogs we have now..can't just forget about things like collars and leashes the way we could with the previous pack, so it's best to just keep the collars on these days.

They both have chips also but that would take a few days for someone to hopefully turn them in.

Well, there's still a lot that can happen to 'em before anybody reads the chip. I only go collar/leash-less on dogs that're 100% reliable off-lead, and only one of our present ones is like that (so far ;) ).
