My Detailing Kit

Here is what I am thinking of now getting:

-The Porter-Cable 7424 Polisher

Polisher / Buffer with Bonus 6" Pad & Counterweight Kit

(I was wondering what other pads or eguipment I would need to use this)

-#80

-#83

-Meguiars Tech wax

-Microfiber towels for drying

-Meguiars car wash



Is this a good kit? Should I add more? If so what should I add? Suggest other products?
 
Yup, that sounds like a great START to me. I say 'START,' b/c it seems like once you start buying, you dont stop till you are out of money. :xyxthumbs



Depending on where you get the PC, it should come with a backing plate although I dont really like it. I use meguiars pads and it seems like its to big. Ive been wanting to get the megs backing plate, but ive just not gotten around to it.



A good clay kit should also be in your kit.. The meguiars smooth clay kit is a good one. I got mine at Advance Auto.



Meguiars DC #1 is good to have. Sometimes you may not need to remove swirls with #80 and DC1 is a good paint cleaner.



#7 is a good polish to go with DC1 if you are not removing swirls. If you use #80, you do not need to polish the paint since it does it in one nice step.



#26 looks good when you top NXT with it.

Yea I have a meguiars clay as well already, I have some swirls on my car nothing crazy but there are swirls on it and I hate it my goal is really to remove the swirls and to make it look new the car really just sits in my garage for the most part but over the winter i had brought it to the car wash twice cause it was just to cold to wash and it was a huge mistake that left me with swirls.



I dont know what pads I should purchase or how many i will need

It seems that no matter how many times I say the same thing someone will say it makes a difference. I say you couldn't tell if you did a blind test.:cool:
