My buddy's work...

My friend Matt showed me these pics and I had to share them!

The girl was trying to get some dirt off with a scotch brite pad, ON THE WHOLE CAR!! Here are some hood shots:

After a lot of work and Sanding the results speak for themselves!

That has got to be the worst screw up I have ever seen!

Congrats to your friend a job well done. In person can you still see hints of the scratches or are they completly gone?

Ya I was very impressed with it to say the least! I didnt get a chance to ask him the process involved, but I will be sure to ask later tonight and report back. I would imagine you can still see light scratching or marring but it saved her a paint job!

I know he uses 3M products though.

holy crap! my eyes! my eyes!

wow, that's a serious before and after if I ever saw one. I hope he either got paid in the triple digits or got l##d for that one!

wow

(i cencsored myseld on that one, just in case!)

Yea, was going to say the same thing. But looks like the job came out pretty good! (not her job, but the final image...)

1. Ardex medium Grade compound (wool cutting pad)

2. 1200 sand paper on the DA(3m)

3. 2000 sand paper on the DA(3m)

4. Used a sample paper (supposed to be 3000) a gelm type sand paper

5. 3m perfect it 3 medium grade compound (wool cutting pad)

6. Ardex Polish (waffle polishing pad)

7. Swirl mark removing polish (3m)(waffle polishing pad)

8. 3m hand glaze

9. A touch of class carnuba wax(Courtesy of Von Housen Mercedes)

The process was long but the results spoke lound and clear... I checked the car out about a week after, she had washed it again,(without kitchen scrubbers) and it all held up, there was still a little depth on some of the scratched so I rubbed them a little and they came right out... The 3m perfect it III system is great from start to finish, but I still had a lot of other products in the garage...

Holy ScotchBrite Batman!!! :shocked

Matt Gr: to say your work was exceptional would be an understatement. I hope you frequent these boards more often now. That is some serious revival there. It literally looks like 2 different hoods. Once again, amazing work! :xyxthumbs
