My 2006 Mustang GT

Gonzo0903

Detail City Fire Rescue
I bought the 'Stang on May 1st, 2006. It's a toy for me, and only comes out to play when the weather is nice. I have 3600 miles on the odometer as of now, and she will be put away for winter.

Do you still get to climb the ladder each year?
It seems like it is something like 100' up, over the top and 100' down.
I have a friend that was a Des Moines Fire Fighter and he said that no matter how many times he did the ladder climb, it was always a challenge.
Interestingly enough he said that under actual fire fighting/rescue conditions, the adrenaline surge made it nowhere near as difficult.
Hey, THANKS for doing a job that most of us take for granted. :bigups
The only time we appreciate the FD and Police is when we need them. (Got a couple of cop friends, too. :))

Both rides looking good. What did you use on the car?

When those pics were taken... Polished with Meguiar's #3 machine glaze, finished with Meguiar's #20 polymer sealant topped with Meguiar's #26 high tech yellow wax.

You are thinking of a confidence building exercise done at the Fire Cacdemy known as the auditorium raise. In the auditorium raise, a 35 foot to 40 foot ladder is placed in the vertical position and secured in place by four firefighters holding ropes. The firefighter must climb up and over, them come back down.

Our two aerials are 110', I climb it at least once or twice a year when we give station tours to kids or doing our open house during fire prevention month.

And that, boys and girls, is reason #259 why I'm not a fire fighter. I don't even like being on top of the cargo aircraft that I work on. Heights > me.

Nice vehicle though. I'm glad Ford is finally putting some decent power in their stock V8's. Now all they need to do is get rid of the 4x4 wheel arches and they'll be set. Keeping the stang in the garage over the harsh north eastern winters will really help with keeping her in pristine condition.
