My 2001 Buick Regal - part 1

I just picked this car up Friday. Previous owner has gone to the do-it-yourself washes and used the "brush of hell". Every panel is scoured with large swirls and moderate scratches.

I'm just starting tonight and expect this to be a "couple" day job. I just spent 1 hour on the trunk top, and I'm overall happy, but my god will this ever take long.

So far; I've used DACP (multiple times) w/ orange pad (5,6 speeds) Poorboys SSR 1 w/ polishing pad (speed 4) and a coat of AIO

I'll be updating this as I progress.

I don't have any SG and never thought of putting it on.

my finishing steps will be SSR1, AIO, Souveran.

I'm picking up a bottle of 3m perfect it II tomorrow and will be "starting again" as the DACP didn't get everything..;)

After the seriously awesome job that you've done so far, I would put something between the AIO and Souveran. AIO's protection/durability powers are minimal and 'nubas just don't have astoundingly great durability, so you might want to put something in between.

Ok thanks, I just ordered some VM.

are there any hints or tricks to applying it? or pretty straight forward.

3M Perfect it, DACP, SSR1

I have the top side of one side of my car looking like this :) taking forever none the less. :D

Wow! Gorgeous wetness and depth Paul. The Regal is really coming along. Feel free to drop by anytime you're in the neighbourhood, lol.
