My 1st Leatherique attempt

First off, I've been using Mother's and Lexol's leather cleaner/conditioners for a while, but it's my first time with Leatherique.

I tried 1 application of Leatherique on 2 cars. One gets pretty good result, one is bad.

On a 1 yr old Acura RSX, with RO+PC the leather feels a little softer and the surface does not seem at all oily compared with Mother's/Lexol... matte surface but soft to the touch, although the increase softness may just be in my head. :p

However, on a 1996 Volvo, the leather turned very dry and rough. I have to admit the leather has been rather neglected. It has lots of small usage-induced grains, but does not yet have any cracks. Before it was just a little dirty but it still has some "shine". After the treatment, it is clean but very matte, _very_ dry and rough... to the point where I put Lexol conditioner on top because I'm very worried.

I followed instructions to the tee. Has anyone experienced this before? Do you think it just needs a 2nd treatment on the Volvo? Or is it normal to top Leatherique with a "topper"/surface protectant like Lexol conditioner? I may be used to the Mother's/Lexol oily shine, but the Volvo definitely has a problem.

Thanks!

It might be the effect of "floating" dirt up to the surface as they suggest may happen. I've seen that and it's not pretty looking.
