My 1st experience with Cobra Clay Mitt and Poorboys line: soap, Black Hole, and Natty Blue

Being me I wasn't crazy about the condition of my rental car. A 'basic' wash turned into a detail job. It was also a opportunity to try out some Poorboys products I received from Autopia. Also it would be the 1st time I using a clay mitt as an alternative to a clay bar.

I think soap was a solid all around cleaner. It seemed gentle in terms of slickness, but the dirt was removed from the car. I liked the lubricity, and using it with the clay mitt turned out to be a great test of that. But for that same reason I could give you a demonstration of its effectiveness with hard water/water spotting* because of the decontamination.

The clay mitt, I liked. Especially using it with the soap made decontamination a much faster process for me. Just on gut, I'm not ready to use this on paint that I am really concerned about marring that I know is soft but that also could be my OCD as well. I could definitely feel the difference in bad areas of a struggle after a couple passes to a smoother movement. I think the mitt is definitely worth the money and just a great investment big picture wise.

Considering all of the scratches and swirls on my rental car, the Black Hole and Natty Blue made for a good test of effectiveness.

Both products went on and wiped off quite well without struggle.

Probably best description is the trunk shot: it's not a miracle filler (Black Hole) and only a light cleaner as you don't see perfect clarity. But it made a very noticeable and significant difference in the paint, as good/better as advertised! Following up with the Natty Blue added even more noticeable gloss.

Thanks for the review! I bet the rental detailer will notice how smooth and slick the paint is now!

That car without any paint correction is living up to your company name !

Thanks for sharing..

I'm glad to see I'm not the only lunatic wanting to detail his rental. I'm here in West Palm Beach for the Competition Ready class and picked up a black 370z for the rental. Needless to say, it needs attention.
