(MUST SEE) Edge adapter for Makita BO6040

Just throwing this out there...

EDGE just came out with a much more conveniet quick change adapter for the PC. Much stronger (like that is even required?) than the current version and alot easier to work the release.

Here is a YouTube clip from them about it.

I don't think they made it for the PC only the rotary.I have one and love it !!!!Much easier design.I never had a problem with the old ones but this is much easier to release the pads.

Nice, look at that!!! That's promising to see as I have some Edge pads that I used with my PC that have been sitting idle since the Flex showed up last September.

Man!!!

That. Just. Rocks!!

Thanks for the update and video!

Let us know if you have a projected sales launch window!

Looking forward to it!

They make them for the PC ROB, Rotary, Makita BO6040 and now even the Flex. I have the first 3 and love using the Edge pads. I rarely use my PC anymore since I got the BO6040.

Ok, it's been a long day - but I kust looked at the video, is the Flex going counter-clockwise?

Sure, is! So does the Makita. In order to make the forced rotation work the right angle gear that normaly turns a high speed rotary machine clockwise goes through another gear, and as anyone familiar with gears and cogs can tell you, that will result in the reverse spin. One of the hardest parts of getting our system to work on these machines was that we had to make all the threads Left Handed instead of right so that they did not self unscrew in use.

This is true although I will say I never noticed this until it was pointed out to me. :nixweiss

Just to give everybody an update, the more I use this adapter on my BO6040 the more I love my new machine. Both the pads/backing plates and adapter are holding up flawlessly with repeated use.

I can't wait for the Flex adapter to come out. I may have to get a Flex for its better trigger position.

Anyone have any idea if these new adapters will work with the Festool Rotex?

The specs for the Edge adapter list at 14mm, I believe.

Thing is, I can never find/remember the arbor size for the Rotex (15mm, maybe?).

Great appreciation for anyone who can help.
