Must own waxe's? looking to grow my collection

Yep, Mayhem is the more traditional Victoria look (honest, natural), Chaos is more flashy, glassy (wetter/brighter/glossier - but these are still not the exact terms; so it's a bit more in-your-face).

I have been hearing that lately. I have a pot of Zymol ital in my collection which is an absolute PITA to use but looks great.

Nattys Blue, Dodo Supernatural

These are some of the best valued waxes in my opinion. You just about cant

beat either one.

I was working on a script for a finishing wax and wrote this last summer...

Question: How many car waxes do you need?

"Car waxes and paint sealants are to men like shoes are to women, you can never have too many"

I recently wrote a fairly lengthy article on the different paint protection products and categorized them by a number of different factors, I haven't posted it here yet but it's on AG

:)

I'm trying to decide which of these I should go for now, theres just so many to chose from, help me decide...

Collinite 915 and 845 for durability and looks

chemical guys 50/50 higher end cars and durability?

victoria wax red? i think it was for higher end cars

sonax higher end cars

p21 s100 higher end cars

fuzion higher end cars

I would like to just buy two, which would you recommend and why? I'm really looking for quality and value. Thanks for all your help so far.

I have not tried any of the ones you listed. However a 3oz of Fuzion is on it's way.

Waxes/Sealants that I do own/tried, are as follows:

Meguiars M20

Meguiars M21

Meguiars M16

Meguiars NXT 2.0

Meguiars Ultimate Quick Wax

XMT Carnuba

Collinite liquid insulator

Mothers Carnuba

Zymol (not sure which one. It was from walmart)

I'm a big fan of Meguiars products.

Daily Driver:Collinite 845 - superior protection from mother nature

Garage Queen - CG-50/50

Bargain - Megs M16/M26 (lighter/darker)

While the Fuzion sounds somewhat intriguing, IMO you could do worse than just getting both the Collinites; talk about value!

I wouldn't think of pricier waxes as necessarily being best for high end cars. When I'm choosing the LSP for one of my vehicles, the cost of that vehicle has nothing to do with it. That "expensive cars deserve expensive waxes" idea is, IMO, just a marketing ploy to separate people from their money (OK, I'd better throw in "with the exception of Vintage" lest I insult some pals here ;) ).

This thread reminds me of how I did my pal's Jag showcar with 476S and some guy at its first show said "oh, that must be Dodo, nothing else looks like it!". Heh heh, must've assumed that a classic showcar was wearing something fancy :chuckle:

Rubbish Boys Original Edition (RBOE), Swissvax (anything Concorso and up), Collinite 845 (not a high priced wax but something everyone should have)

IMO, everyone should have RBOE!

It is not bad once you get application down. Take a few times but after that it is as easy as any other wax. Removal is not bad if you use a very short nap MF. One to get rid of the top part and second to buff rest away.

I fully agree!

My opinion would be, "Don't believe the hype."

IMO if folks spent as much time learning about polishes and how to use them, then they did about waxes or LSPs in general, their finish would look much better.

I have one had one client request a specific wax, they supplied it and I used it.

I have 915 and 476 with me on every detail, but have not used them in a while.

gmblack3a- Heh heh, you and I are probably risking taking the fun out of this thread, but yeah...even though I use different LSPs on all my vehicles, I have specific reasons for my choices and I consider those reasons to be sensible. IF somebody *has* specific reasons for multiple LSPs on the shelf, cool. But I hope those reasons are well thought-out.
