Multi-Ladders

Bunky

Detailing Gnosis
I am in the market for a 10 ft ladder. I was going to get a 10ft Werner fiberglass but I also see these multifunction ladders for about 2x the price. These are the types that seem to be two ladders that you can either make on long ladder or create scaffolding. They also seem to work on steps with uneven leg lengths. I am sure they are more of a hassle to set up but do they work? Do they feel less stable when one longer ladder?

I have a Little Giant and would never buy another ladder (and probably will never have to). It's just so versatile. I could go through all the things it will do that a regular ladder won't (or won't do safely), but their website does a good job of it. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it the last ladder I'll ever buy? Probably so. The only other 'ladder' I own is a step stool - the Little Giant will do everything else.

It is a little bulky compared to say a 6' safety ladder, but it's easier to maneuver than a standard ladder of the same extension.

And, IMHO, get the actual Little Giant. I tried the different other versions out there (Gorilla, Werner, etc.) and none of them compare in any way shape or form. I got on a Werner that was set up as a 6' safety ladder and it scared me to death is was so flimsy. I can't imagine it in an extended layout.

It's one of the few products I own that if it was ever stolen, I wouldn't even look at other brands. I'd just go buy another Little Giant.

You can buy them on-line or Sears carries them now. They always have some special deal going on (free shipping, accessories, etc.).

I have a Little Giant...[and it's great]...

I love mine too! It's the ladder I use 99% of the time, really only get out the others when I need something a lot longer or when I can get by with one of the light-duty stepladders (yeah, I still use the cheapies, especially when I gotta lug it up/down stairs).

Expensive, yeah..but after having owned mine for a long time I don't even remember what it cost, just how well it's served me over the years.

I too had a number of similar ladders, but the last time we had an auction I let them *all* go. I agree with kompressornsc, for a configurable ladder, get the geniune Little Giant brand.
