Mr. Clean Spot Free Wash is Awsome

Well today I was browsing through K-Mart and saw the new mr.clean spot free car was so I decided Ill try it out. ($20.00) I got home and put in the polymer soap and filter and started washing the car. Theres 3 Steps, Rinse-Soap-Rinse with Filltered Water. It was realy easy to change steps, you just have to turn a nob on the back. The good thing is you dont need buckets and can turn the water on and of with a switch. Once I was done, No Spots at all! I was very please. I think this is well worth $20. If you havnt tryed it out you should very good product.
 
I tried it and will probably be returning it. Yes, it worked as stated, no spots at all. But, it seemed to leave a film on my paint that really showed up when it rained the next day. The water did not bead or sheet off the car. It looked like an old single-stage paint that had never been waxed. I'd rather dry by hand now that I've seen what it really does. Dunno if it messed up my wax (2 coats of LG) or not. But I ain't taking any chances.
 
You really need to minimize the soap......A little of that stuff goes a long way......I usually wet the car, apply the soap (little) and go over with a shpskn, then rinse, then spot free rinse...Its not too bad of a product once you figure it out.....

Don't know if that is necessarily a good thing. I for one am a firm believer in using the two bucket method at the very least when washing my car. I just cringe at the thought of using my washmitt over the entire car without having rinsed it off. All those particles trapped in the washmitt just itching to scratch my paint. :scared

I can see where it might be useful for people who have to wash their cars in direct sun where spotting would be a problem.



I think I will pass. I see taking care of my car as mental therapy and to me this is just a short cut for those who don't enjoy the process.
